Porsche’s next electric vehicle will be launched in less than 24 hours. It’s the Cayenne Electric, which the automaker will offer alongside its current-generation gas-powered model.
While Porsche will fully unveil the new electric SUV tomorrow morning, the company was keen to tease it. We know it will ride on the Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric architecture. The SUV will produce more than 1,000 hp in its Turbo version, making it the brand’s most powerful production car ever, surpassing the 1,019 hp Taycan Turbo GT.

The Cayenne will be able to reach 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds and 124 miles per hour in less than eight seconds. It also features an oil-cooled rear engine for the Turbo trim, a reworked infotainment system and a cabin full of screens, although Porsche also retained many physical controls.
The Cayenne Electric will also feature a new battery design, which will measure 113.0 kilowatt hours. There will be less powerful and cheaper versions of the Cayenne electric, these are trims we’ll likely get details on when it debuts.
While Porsche may be pulling back on its electrification efforts, it’s not giving up on the technology. The Tacan was its first modern EV, followed by the Macan Electric. Check back for more information on the new Cayenne Electric when Porsche pulls the covers off at 9:15 a.m. Eastern.
