We finally visited Sperone beaches in Bonifacio again! We were here ten years ago, and it is one of the best experiences of that trip. That’s why it was no wonder we wanted to go back. There was sun, bath and a nice canoe trip!
Sperone beaches in Bonifacio
Sperone beaches consist of Sperone Beach (Little Sperone Beach) and Grand Sperone Beach (Big Sperone Beach). Both beaches are incredibly beautiful and surrounded by crystal clear, turquoise blue water. The fact that you have to make a little effort to reach them can make experience even bigger …
Sperone beaches are approximately 7 kilometers southeast of the city of Bonifacio, in the south of Corsica.
To visit Sperone beaches in Bonifacio
To make an excursion to Sperone beaches from Bonifacio, it is best to have your own vehicle. At the city’s tourist office they told us that there are no buses, and that taxi one duration way to go to the beaches … With camper you can choose to either record Camping des Iles And run from there or to park along the road, like all passenger cars do.
We parked on the way and went to the water, where you will be generated by boat rental and a few food service. Then go to the beaches Petit Sperone and Grand Sperone, you have to walk well along the beach (unless of course you rent a boat or canoe!), And you must be prepared for a distance that is in no way prepared. There are smooth pebble beaches and narrow paths through dense bush -cakes that apply … but shame against the one who gives it up!
Sperone Beach
The first beach you arrive is Petit Sperone. This small sandy beach is really magically beautiful and the water is turquoise blue than in a tourist brochure.
Grand Sperone Beach
If you continue with the walk, you will eventually come to Grand Sperone. This beach is also incredibly beautiful and we ate our lunch bag here (baguette with salami and fruit). The fact that we don’t have that many photos is because it just started to rain just after our picnic, incredibly enough … Well, when it’s summer in Corsica, it will not get cold, and soon it got better again …!
Ön Île piana
Just outside the two Sperone beaches is called an island Piana. This island is part of the Lavezzi Islands nature reserve and is so close to land that when you are on light, you can also wade to the island. Other ways to come to the island are of course by boat or by canoe.
We went here with a rented canoe, not least because it is nice to paddle on the clear water for a while.
Peter also raised his drone on the island, which I naturally wanted to wave …
To rent canoe
There are various places where you can rent a canoe, near the Sperone beaches. We walked past the first two landlords we saw and rented a canoe at the third. Here we had to pay for 3 hours 40 euros, of which we certainly thought it was worth it.

If you want, you can choose to paddle to Petit Sperone or Grand Sperone, or to a cave near them. We paddled to the Piana Island, where we added a few different beaches. A nice turn!
Golf courses on Sperone beaches
Maybe you should also mention that there are a set of golf courses on Sperone beaches. The person who waves here does this with a beautiful views that we want to promise. It is also easy to walk from the golf courses to Petit Sperone or Grand Sperone – much easier than taking that path that most “normal” tourists take.
To think about when you have to visit Sperone beaches
Are you planning to visit Sperone beaches when you are in Bonifacio? Keep in mind that the environment is “wild” and that it can be a challenge to get ahead if you have difficulty with mobility or balance. Also keep in mind that restaurants are only available in the beginning, on parking, so you have to take everything you need during the day. Here are tips about what you can pack with you:
- Swimwear
- Bathing
- Sun/cap
- Sunscreen
- Parasol (may be good, but we skipped it because we didn’t want to wear too much.)
- Snorkel and Cyclops
- Lots of water and/or other drink (our 3 liters were just enough, and then we still had cloudy.)
- Lunch bags/snacks
- Bag or exchange to reduce the waste
- Mobile phone/camera
Where can you live or stand at the camper?
If you are a golfer, you may want to take a golf resort on Sperone beaches. Another variant is to take the campsite Camping des IlesWhere you can live in your own camping vehicle or in the cabin/bungalow. Another alternative is to stay in Bonifacio and take you to Sperone by car/camper. We stayed Camping L’AraguinaThat is a smaller campsite with a very central and good location in Bonifacio.
More to see and in the neighborhood
Of course, near Sperone beaches, you want to view Bonifacio – The city with the dramatic location on the rocks, in the far south of Corsica. It is also nice to make a boat excursion to the Lavezzi Islands. Moreover, we can visit visits to the city of Porto-Vecchio and on the surrounding beautiful beaches, such as Plage de Palombaggia.
