Injured Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has a new $16 million luxury home.

The delayed Bronte upgrade settlement by injured Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins and his wife Becky has appeared on property records.

Their $16 million purchase secured a two-story house built in 1888 that needed renovation.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom, 730-square-foot home was purchased off the market in November last year and only recently occupied.

It was bought from Keri Spooner, the Waverley councilor who had paid $990,000 in 1996 with her late husband Brian O’Neill, the former secretary of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association and who later became NSW industrial relations commissioner.

It was previously owned by the Ford family, stalwarts of the Bronte surf club.

Waverley Council’s website, which celebrates local heritage, features a 1970s photo of the imposing house, now shielded by trees.

Cummins currently lives nearby in another five-bedroom Victorian mansion, Figtree House, which was purchased in 2021 for $9.3 million.

The fast bowler simultaneously secured the 2021 sale of his surplus apartment in Beach St, Clovelly for $3.7 million. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment cost $1,362,500 in 2013.
