Nissan recalls frontier trucks for vague running lamps during the day

Nissan Frontier Daytime loop lights can dim when the Auto Idle-Stop function activates.

– A Nissan Frontier -back group from 2025 comprises more than 13,700 trucks that can encounter problems with the daytime running lights.

The recall from Nissan Frontier from 2025 was announced after Nissan heard that the day can suddenly dim when the idle start-stop function runs the engine from to turns.

The stationary stopping function automatically switches the engine off when the vehicle is at a stop such as a traffic light and the engine restarts when the driver releases the brake pedal.

Nissan says there can be errors in the software of the motor control module that cause a loss of communication with the body control module. The running lights during the day may experience a short (0.3 seconds) reduction of light intensity before they become normal again.

The problem will not occur when the headlights are switched on, because the running lights are not illuminated during the day.

Nissan discovered the problem when an engineer tested a 2026 Nissan Frontier Truck. The stationary stop-start system was activated and the day run lights dimed, so the truck was placed in quarantine for further research. The problem repeated every time the stationary stop system is activated.

Although vague day -running lights do not reduce visibility for a limit of a border, Nissan certain that the problem can violate the federal safety standards. However, there have been no warranty or crash reports.

Nissan Frontier Recall Letters are expected to be emailed on September 17, 2025 and dealers will update the Engine Control Module software. The track must take about an hour.

Nissan Frontier owners can call 800-647-7261. Nissan’s number for this recall is R25C3.
