He is probably the only public handicapper who has closed every race at colonial downs since day one, and he is back for more in 2025: Nick is choices Returns with picks and analysis for every day of the colonial meeting.
- Date/post time: September 6, 2025/12 afternoon
- Races: 10
- Transfers: Choose 6, $ 2,006
Race 1
In a peat sprint for two -year -old $ 30k girl claimers, three make their debut among starters who have no finish above fifth place.
| 7. As soon as possible | Perhaps a good place for a first starting start to shine with a homebed by Rixeyville’s Lady Olivia (named after two dogs from the owner, lady and Olivia). Trainer Flores recently crashed with a debut winner of $ 129. |
| 8. Thunder Murphy | The best effort between the starters comes from the Colt of Bolt d’Oro’s Sormeaux, who seems to have a solid colonial encounter as a father. |
| 4. Jessica’s eyes | Jerry Robb debuts a gelding who once showed a bullet in a muddy work, perhaps his hand to a preference for turf to step. |
Race 2
Not much rest for several here, because many quickly come back to a $ 16k that claims with two peat mile for non-winners of two lifespan.
| 2. Sweet tone | The tonalistic gelding of Woodberry Payne graduated early in the meeting and has taken a different victory at this level. Sanchez is driving today. |
| 5. Meistersinger | After an educational two -year year on Graszel, Casse’s gelding came out in his first victory in Gulfstream. Must be closer. |
| 1. Feral’s joy | Ran a large race at a higher level in Colonial at the end of July. If you can draw a line during its last start, the class trap will be attractive today. |
Race 3
In a dirty sprint (one turn, seven furlongs), all those with Starts are familiar with colonial in a first special weight for two -year -olds.
| 2. Power grid | Robb has entered two side by side in the Startpoort, both capable but with his city of Light Foal happy not to see trendsetter. |
| 4. Mibner | Russell comes in a $ 160k phasig-Tipton October yearling sales for DARRs and may have found a good place for his debut. |
| 5. SS quality | McPeek quickly brings his hard charger back after he used a fast pace to almost win at six Furlongs. Speed is also signed today. |

Race 4
A wide open $ 16k girl who claims that a two-bend peat test can be the gambling race of the card if you can solve the many starts.
| 6. Blackthorne abruptly | Showing improvement with every outing, this summer gelding front has shown a small talent that Coaey can massage at this level. |
| 10. Gordito | Perri’s gelding all has three seconds in his last four starts on peat; Much more competitive since switching to the lawn. |
| 3. Grand Liam | Ochoas More than ready gelding deserve to be the favorite, but not much separates him from the many worthy challengers who are abundant here. |
Race 5
With McPeek, JJ Gray expects to keep in Kentucky to run to Kentucky Downs, the joy of the two -year kitten may have been opened.
| 4. Kid Karel the Great | Thomas indicated what seemed to be an easy victory earlier this week to walk here in a field that may not contain JJ Gray, a smart choice. Blinks up. |
| 7. Jutland | Danner’s Colt has won and lost with poor racing, that should change with a wide pole in a short field that goes around two innings. |
| 2. Empire of Glory | Not much morning line respect for the well -bred foal of Lawrence that improved sharply that stretches on the turf after gloomy dirt sprints. |
Race 6
One of my favorite races of the year is the three-turn 1/2-mile colonial cup, probably not preferred quality that last week in Del Mar.
| 2. Deviation | Yoshida -Ruin van Meyers may be running, but will not be placed better this year than last year. Able to launch a big outing here. |
| 5. Dear father | Casse extends from four Furlongs in search of a three-pit, a winning scenario that may come to the front, Lightning Paces style. |
| 7. Twirling Point | The gelding from Thomas has seen a few formidable enemies in Graded Stakes Company and is an APT replacement for real quality on longer distances. |
Nick’s Notes

- View jockey and trainer statistics until 1 September.
- Jockeys Sheldon Russell And Francisco Arrieta Each won a few races on Friday. Russell’s victories came for his wife, Brittany RussellAnd Jonathan ThomasWhile both Arrieta triumphs were for the trainer Engel Rodriguez…
- Native from Maryland located in Virginia Robbie Bailes broadcast Senior To win the top race of the day, a reimbursement on the second level/optional claimant. Denis Arajo was in the irons when they had closely prevailed Zero blitzof Tais Lyapustina upwards Joanne Shankle.

Race 7
Promising two -year -olds hope to join the runners such as Four -wheel drive, no no Mets and Governor Sam As nice winners of this relatively new race.
| 8. Rogue Legend | Talk about your foreign intruder when Ward’s English comes from Royal Ascot (via Keeneland) to make his North American debut. |
| 3. Having my dream | Braddy’s Win Win Colt starts after a dismissal of a girl -breaking score in Gulfstream and go ahead in the morning. |
| 4. Fear | Another Win Win Colt, this trained by d’Angelo, was inspiring enough in his switch to peat to earn a shot here. |
Race 8
In a peat sprint, Merryman’s Ruin has the best result at Colonial, the Van Clief Win, in a field where many have never seen New Kent before.
| 9. Arogon | Largely abandon the solid graded stakes performances by Allard’s gelding to transport class after looking at AG Bullet and bringing the band home. |
| 5. Witty | A shaky choice as Merryman now has her six -year -old just as good as in his career. With eleven victories that says something. |
| 4. Doncho | Lovell’s Doncho has run the best and worst of her career races in his last two on the peat. A similar performance would be enough to win. Set a world record (seriously) in the last minute. |
Race 9
Multiple entries from two trainers, including three from Thomas, grew the field to ten with Saratoga and del Mar Shippers who were prominent.
| 10. Will then | Thomas’s filly foal was on a solid role until he came up sharply in the classroom to face nitrogen. Lost with the same margin as Evershed in her last start. |
| 7. Evershed | Before you slipped to Saratoga to finish second to Laurelin in the Saratoga Oaks, Delacour’s Filly had a clear victory at Colonial. Will be popular. |
| 3. No more sighs | Nice victory in the boiling feathers and a credible attempt with problems in the Saratoga Oaks; Own a G3 victory in Ireland (at 40-1) and rents with Conceptcion. |
RACE 10
There are a number of challengers who can test the world beater from Mott, but his Saratoga scores are currently showing him in a different class.
| 6. World beater | The last two starts were on 11-1 versus test score, the two before they were Churchill victories, and yet it still seems to improve with every start. |
| 5. Iron hand | Could be a rapid threat at the pace, especially if the turf remains firm. D’Angelo’s Colt could pop up in the second peat attempt. |
| 9. Outrunner | Has the Volant van Soleil, a capable movement enemy, will help twice in recent starts and an extra sixteenth. Connex chose to run here at this place about 9/3 race here. |
