Limited Free Agent Josh Giddey has reached an agreement on a four -year $ 100 million deal to re -sign with the Chicago Bulls, Agent Daniel Moldovan of Lighthouse Sports Management told ESPNs Shams Charania On Tuesday. The deal is fully guaranteed and contains no player or team options
Josh Giddey had wanted a five -year contract of $ 150 million
Per PlaceIn August 2021, Giddey signed a four-year, $ 27.21 million Rookie scale contract. Last season he earned $ 6.58 million in 2023-24 and $ 8.35 million. Both salaries were club options.
The Bulls acquired Giddey in the 2024 trade agreement that Alex Caruso sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Thunder General Manager Sam Presti was easy when tackling the decision to trade Giddey for Alex Caruso. He made it clear that Giddey was open to leave Oklahoma City for other opportunities.
“While we recorded Josh how he could lean in his strengths and eventually optimize our current selection and talent, it was difficult for him to introduce himself, and conversations turned to him who took potential opportunities elsewhere,” Presti said.
“As always, Josh was the greatest professionalism during the discussions. Josh has an All-Star potential, but access to that in the current construction of the Thunder would not be optimal for the collective. Based on these discussions, we decided to move forward and give priority to what was best for the organization.”
Giddey was on average career -high songs last season
Giddey is the second limited free agent who signed a deal in September after Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas last week a qualification of $ 6 million, $ 6 million, inks.
Golden State Warriors Vooruit Jonathan Kuminga and Philadelphia 76ers guard Quentin Grimes remain the only outstanding limited free agents this summer.
