Defender of England, Lucy Bronze, admitted that the lion ribbons ‘do not do things in the easy way’, after their extra-time semi-final victory over Italy.

Chloe Kelly scored her 119th minute winner on the rebound after Laura Giulliani blocked her penalty after Emma Severini’s wrong on Beth Mead.

However, England had sent a barrel at the end of their deficiency afterwards after Barbara Bonansea Italy had looked at Bronze in the 33rd minute, before replacement, Michelle Agyemang struck injury time to recover parity in the sixth minute.

Bronze Post-Match praised her team for their tough Vechtgeest in this tournament, because she admitted that they do not like flexible results, apart from victories on the Netherlands and Wales in the group phase before they defeated Sweden after a 2-2 draw in the quarterfinals.

“We don’t do things in the easy way, it seems like this tournament, but we think we’ll win, or that is I think it was the 96th minute and then the 118th minute, we just found a way to get the goals and get the ball in the back of the net,” reflected bronze while talking about the team’s recovery.

“Of course we showed it in the last game and then Italy played a good game in the first half. We were probably not at our best, but we showed a lot of resilience and fighting to get back into the game as we did in so many games this tournament.

“I think the fight, the talent, everything, the hard work we have in this English team is incredible and to return to the European final is not an easy achievement, not many teams have done that.”

Bronze, however, described the first half of the lion rates as ‘listless’ with their shortage of one goal not to easily use mentally.

“I think we looked a little lethargic once we started and then they clearly got a goal and I think 1-0 in a semi-final is not easy to take if you know we might have scored, and we were probably at the top for parts of the first half,” before we settled in the second half.

“But as soon as we have settled in the game, you even saw us possess the ball in extra time and started creating opportunities.”

Manager, Sarina Wiegman rarely tinkers with her starting line-up in large tournaments except when needed, of which Bronze believes that it emphasizes the impact of the replacements on the couch.

“I think you’ve seen so many tournaments with England now, how the subs have such an impact,” continued the 33-year-old. “We are talking about the interests of the team and the importance of the team and everyone who is ready.

“I know we don’t make many changes to the starting XI, but I think the people who come up make a huge difference.

“They are fresh legs, they add enthusiasm, tenacity, and they are the ones who achieve goals and take us to the final.”

England is now waiting for Germany or Spain in the final in Basel, Switzerland on Sunday 27 July (5 pm BST kicked off), but Bronze is pleased to face both opposition in the showpiece.

“Germany, the fight they have shown in their last two games, and clearly Spain plays fantastic football. It is either a rematch of the World Cup finale or the euro football, so it will also be a fantastic game and a great final tomorrow.”
