Yoshinobu Yamamoto almost had the first no-hitter of the 2025 season.
But then a Dodgers -melting followed.
With only one to go out in the Dodgers’ match against the Orioles on Saturday, Yamamoto gave up a solo-home run to Shortstop Jackson Holliday-Eindelijk ended his no-hit bid.
Nevertheless, Yamamoto had a strong outing for Los Angeles, hit 10 batters and ran two more than 8 ⅔ innings.
However, when Yamamoto was taken out of the game, the Dodgers could not close the door for their starter.
“We have been in a bit of a rut lately,” Yamamoto said reporters through a translator, according to the Associated Press. “We have to overcome this little difficult time.”
Reliever Blake Tinnen came in after Yamamoto and failed to record an out, and stood up three earned points while he was two.

With the Dodgers up with the bases, they turned to poet Tanner Scott, but he finally gave up a walk-off single to Emmanuel Rivera when the Orioles won, 4-3.
“It’s hard to tell a game like this where you have so many things that you feel that you can get a little momentum, build a great outing from Yoshinobu and take it tomorrow,” Manager Dave Roberts told reporters, according to the AP. “And it is clearly completely reversed.”
The MLB has to see a no-hitter this season, where the performance took place just over a year ago on September 4, 2024, when three Cubs-throwers threw a combined No-Hitter against the Pirate.
The last solo no-hitter is from Yamamotas teammate Blake Snell on 2 August 2024, when the Lefty closed the Reds when he was a member of the Giants.
