On Sunday, the first day of Book Four, 267 horses sold for $10,937,500, a 10% increase from last year’s sixth session when 281 horses sold for $9,905,900, including after-ring sales. The average rose 16% from $35,252 to $40,964, and the median of $30,000 is 20% above $25,000 from last year. The RNA percentage of 18% represented the 58 horses that failed to meet their reserve.
In other sales on Sunday, Yaupon also sired a weanling foal (Hip 2247) that sold to Big Bear Bloodstock for $250,000. Legacy Bloodstock, agent, has transferred the son of Social Mandate, a winning daughter of Strong Mandate. He comes from the family of multi-stakes winner Tensas Harbor.
Ella Elizabeth (Hip 2009), a 4-year-old daughter of Take charge Indy who is a full sister to grade 3 winner and stakes producer Take Charge Paula and is offered in foal Golden Friend sold to Hidden Brook, agent, for $220,000. Ella Elizabeth, signed by Glendalough at Dromoland, agent, is out of Perfect Paula, a winning daughter of Songandaprayer who was stakes in England. Take Charge Paula is the mother of stakes winner Paula with long neck .
Agent Hidden Brook, who bought four horses for $540,000, was the session’s top buyer.
Hidden Brook, agent, also spent $170,000 to acquire She Caught My Eye (Hip 2226), a winning 6-year-old daughter of Violence pregnant with Domestic product . Out of Purrfectly Mine, by Mineshaft, she is from the family of Santa Catarina, the Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 runner. Glendalough at Dromoland, agent, sent She Caught My Eye.
The second horse sold for $170,000 was Smoothly (Hip 2245), a three-year-old daughter of Nyquist pregnant with Hard spun which was purchased by BMFHR. She was consigned by Godolphin and is a half-sister to the stakes winner Nelson Avenue and from the family of Grade 1 winner Matareya, Grade 2 winner Lucullan and Grade 3 winner Innovative Idea. Her mother is Via Strata, a winning daughter of Street Cry.
Red Stable spent $155,000 for a weanling foal (Hip 2262) Oscar performance who is a half-sister to stakes winner Bella Aurora. Out of the winning Street Cry mare Street Interest he was consigned by Kingswood Farm, agent. The colt comes from the family of Grade 1 winners Shared Interest, Sewickley, Cash Run and Forestry.
Three horses sold for $140,000 each.
Abeyance (Hip 1899), signed by Godolphin and sold for the amount to Foundation Bloodstock, is a 4-year-old winning daughter of American Pharaoh pregnant with Frosted . From the family of Grade 1 winner and sire Scat Daddy, she is out of Grade 3 winner and Grade 1 seed Antipathy, of AP Indy.
Yaupon is also the sire of a weanling filly (Hip 1938), consigned by Scott Mallory, agent, and sold to Buena Madera for $140,000. Out of Bliss, a winning daughter of Flashy Bull, she comes from the family of stakes winners Blissful Union and Blissful Kiss.
Fortuna Mia (Hip 2039), a 3-year-old daughter of Vekoma which was a winning runner on the stakes, sold for $140,000 to Machmer Hall. She was consigned by Kingswood Farm, agent, and did not win any prizes Prince of Cairo mare Windy Lane and from the family of grade 1 winners Fault, Juju’s card and Bast, together with grade 2 winner Fioretti.
Taylor Made Sales Agency sold 24 horses for $1,135,000 and led the consignors.
