A Pakistani journalist had to be strongly reminded that there would be no questions about the tensions between India and Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2025 or something that is related to it.
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur did not attend the press conference. Instead, the bowling coach Aavishkar Salvi who had arrived. The journalist not only asked how things could come out between the ladies teams, but also followed it with another question along the same lines.
“I had a question for the Indian captain, but because you are here, I will ask you instead. We have seen that the ladies’ teams of both Pakistan and India share good companionship, at least prior to this World Cup. So do you think the bitterness of the Asia Cup might also be able to wear to the ladies teams?” The journalist asked, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
The media manager had involved himself as soon as the follow-upquery was asked. Her attitude was that none of the Indian setup would entertain such questions.
“Hello, just a memory – we said we wouldn’t take that first question, so let’s continue with the next one,” she said firmly.
For the unexpected quadrates India and Pakistan three times in the recently closed continental tournament for men. The competitions were loaded with handshake-sagas, aggression on the field and enormously critical comments that had gone off the ground. The men in Blue defeated Pakistan with five wickets in the final to win the tournament for the ninth time.
The women in blue have a flawless record against their rivals. They still have to lose a game in the 11 odis in which they have come face to face. India comes from a 59-run victory against Co-hosts Sri Lanka, while Pakistan will enter the coming match after a defeat of seven Wicket to Bangladesh.
