Charlotte Knights 6, Syracuse Mets 0 (5 Innings) (Statcast Box)
The knights (52-57) only played five innings before the rain was involved, but they let the innings count against Syracuse (58-52).
Vinny Capra led the game with a single and Will Robertson followed with a walk. That brought Tim Elko on the plate and Elko benefited fully from a 1-0 slider that caught too much of the zone. Elko destroyed his 19th Homer of the Year with Charlotte and his 23rd general when we record his time at the White Sox. Just like that, after three batters, the knights had a 3-0 lead.
In the second, Blake Sabol led away with a single and he went to second place in a productive fly -out from Dru Baker. That was the stage for Caden Connor, who left a single in line to extend Charlotte’s lead to four.

The knights added insurance in the fourth, when Dru Baker went deep. The last run scored on a two -hree in the fifth by Bryan Ramos. That double drove in Andre Lipcius, who had previously exhibited in the inning.

In the meantime, Starter Bryse Wilson, 27, was great for the knights. In fact, he threw a complete shutout, because Wilson did not allow runs in five innings, and the game was called because of rain after five.

Birmingham Barons 4, Chattanooga Lookouts 2
The barons (64-40) continued their winning ways with a different victory over Chattanooga (53-46).

Start -Werger Hagen Smith, 21, had a decent outing. Smith only allowed two runs in five innings and he had a total of six strikeouts. The disadvantage of Smith’s performance was that he published five walks. The control problem was problematic in the second, when Smith issued three walks before a single allowed in the first run of the game. The lookout scored their second and last point in the third, when Edwin Arroyo tripled and Ruben Ibarra hit.

The bullpen from Birmingham was excellent, causing zero runs on one hit in four innings. As a result, the attack only needed a few runs and the battle people provided business.

The barons got on the board in the second, when Brewing Montgomery led with a single. With one out, Calvin Harris added a single to put runners on the corners. From there, Mario Camiletti appeared in error territory, and wise, aggressive base held by Montgomery, the barons allowed the game to bind the game.

In the third, Ryan Galanie shot a solo -homer to bind the game to two. That Homer was Galanie’s seventh with the barons and his 11th general this season.

With the score still 2-2 in the fifth, the barons took the lead forever. Rikuu Nishida pulled a lead -Ok -off Walk and went to second place on a William Bergolla site. Winston-Salem Dash 5, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4

The dashboard (40-62) took off an exciting comeback to beat the hot rods (55-47) in bowling green.

At the top of the first, the dashboard placed itself on the board. Jacob Burke led the game with a single and he scored on a productive basis of Jeral Perez.

The score remained 1-0 for different frames. Dash -starter Lucas Gordon kept the hot rods off the board during his 3 1/3 innings, although it was a bumpy ride. Gordon gave five free runs and needed 69 throws to withstand those 3 1/3 frames (20.7 fields per inning).

With the score 1-0, the hot rods went to work against Reliever Nick Altermatt in the fifth. Altermatt already allowed four hits, but his defense was less than helpful. The first two hot rods of the inning reached mistakes, and with one from collected Bowling Green four consecutive singles. Towards the end of the hit parade, Bowling Green had a 4-1 lead.

Bowling Green gave that 4-1 lead to the top of the ninth, when the dashboard attack pulled a big surprise. Burke distracted the inning and was hit by a throw and Samuel Zavala took his second single of the game. Perez continued the rally with an RBI single to make the score was 4-2. After a beam, both basic runners move 90 feet, so the potential draw was suddenly in a score position.

Alec Makarewicz hit a link single to the right to pull the dashboard within one, and there were still no outs. Eventually the Hot Rods Drake Logan moved out on a ground, but that grounder rode in the equal run. From there, Jackson Appel was on the left that rode in the Go-Ahead Run.
