Nashville Sounds 7, Charlotte Knights 0 ((Status box))
The knights (59-72) lost their fourth consecutive match and were excluded in back-to-back competitions. Charlotte’s attack had four hits, but did not have many chances to score and hit 0-out-3 with runners in score position and the six points they left behind, would still not have been enough to beat Nashville. Joshua Palacios, Andre Lipcius, Dominic Fletcher and Jacob Amaya each had one of the four hits, but the knights could never happen.
Chase Plymell was out for his second start of the season and served as the opener for Charlotte, but unfortunately he only took two and immediately gave up four points in the second soil – the start of the game by giving up a solo shot. Plymell gave up an RBI -Basishit and he threw a wild pitch that brought in the third run of the match for the sounds, and Charlotte then decided to go to the bull pen to bring in Kyle Tyler, although another point would be charged to chase.
The Knights eventually used seven pitchers to get out of this, and Jairo Iriart was responsible for the remaining three runs after loading the bases in the second seventh on three walks before he left the game to leave Zach Franklin to tidy up his mess. Big Time Spoiler Alert: Nashville has placed three more runs before he closed Charlotte for the remaining two innings to end the game.
Knoxville Smokies 11, Birmingham Barons 1
The Smokies (60-64) jumped early on the barons (75-51) and never left, while the attack by Birmingham only collected five hits compared to the 21 of T0 Knoxville and a loss of 11-1 names while dropping the series. The only run of the barons came in the second half of the first inning after William Bergolla and Sam Antonacci had punctured back-to-back hits to put runners on first and third, and Wilfred Veras explained the only Bham RBI of the game with a sacrifice.
With the attack that has difficulty reaching the basics, the pitching staff did not do its best work to prevent the smokies from scoring. Connor McCullough ended with his second loss of the season after giving up two points in the first of the first, but the rest of the pitching to staff did the majority of the damage. Jake Palisch was deserved five on seven hits (including one homer) in his 1 1/3 innings, and Adisyn Coffey left three out of four hits. The entire pitching staff combined four walks and eight strikeouts.
Winston-Salem Dash 5, Rome Keizers 0
The dashboard (53-71) set up 10 hits and the pitching staff only increased five while excluding the emperors (54-68), 5-0. Caleb Bonemer had an excellent night, and hit 3-out-4 with 10 total bases because of a double and two solo bombs to take into account three of the five Winston-Salem runs that were driven in. Two other Dash-Hitters had multi-hit nights-samuel Zavala and Jackson Appel. Although they were able to score five, Winston-Salem 1-out-15 went with runners in a score position and still left 10 at the base.
On the other side of the ball, Christian Oppor set the tone beautiful with five solid innings with two hits, a walk and six strikeouts, and earned his first victory of the season. The Bullpen took over in the sixth and combined for three hits specified with two free running, although Nick Altermatt was the only reliever who hit a batter (three on the night, in the sixth and seventh).
Jack Young was looking for the bottom of the ninth and the emperors had put two on the base before the dashboard could close it and won the series to close the weekend.
Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 4, Salem Red Sox 1
The cannon ballers (60-66) were outdated by the Red Sox (52-72), but the Kannapolis-Pitching gave only one undeserved run when she defeated Salem 4-1 to take five of the six in the series. Ricardo Brizuela made his 22nd start of the season, and was efficient through three before getting into a bit of trouble in the top of the fourth — ultimately giving up the one run on four hits, alongside two walks and four strikeouts.. Kanny was able to score first, however, and posted All four runs of the game in the bottom of the first with four consecutive hits, Two Stolen Bases, A Fielder’s Choice, and Balk to Cap It Off.
Jordan Sprinkle and Ely Brown started the game with singles and a stolen base each, scored from a George Wolkow doubles to the right on the next battle to bring the score to 2-0. Colby Shelton rode in the third on an RBI ground and the last run was handed over by the Red Sox when Werper Jose Bello in a run balte. Sprinkle was the only baller with two hits on the day and also stole a second base in the bottom of the second, although Wolkow was good for two RBIs.
Although the defense made two mistakes, the Bullpen was about to the rest of the match, and righthander Madison Jeffrey earned the victory after 1 2/3 scoreless innings on just one hit and two strikeouts. Gabriel Rodriguez and Jesús Mendez both closed things in their last 3 2/3 innings, which combine for three hits and three strikeouts, with Mendez recording the Save.
