The drama boiled over in the U19 Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan when Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ali Raza were involved in an ugly fight at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Sunday, December 21.

In the fifth over of India’s chase, Pakistani bowler Ali Raza bowled a short ball that was slightly slanted over Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The 14-year-old attempted to punch the rising ball into the air despite having no room to adjust his shot. The ball hit the edge of his bat and went into the air.

Hamza Zahoor was in the right position when he took a stunning catch over his head. Suryavanshi made a major blunder and left his team in a difficult position as he walked back to the pavilion after scoring 26 runs from 10 balls, hitting one four and three sixes against Pakistan.

The frustration was clear and tension exploded on the field immediately after his dismissal. Raza celebrated the big wicket with full intensity and got straight into Suryavanshi’s face.
