Mohsin Naqvi, the current chairman of the PCB and also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), is once again heading to Dubai to attend the final match between India Under-19 and Pakistan Under-19. The chairman is guilty of many antics against the Indian team.
Naqvi has often failed to fulfill his duties as chairman of a neutral body as he walked away with the Asia Cup trophy when India were the winners of the 2025 Senior Men’s Asia Cup and denied taking the trophy from him. He is yet to hand over the trophy to the champions, India.
Will Mohsin Naqvi be part of the U-19 Asia Cup presentation ceremony?
According to the latest reports from Geo News in Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi will travel to Dubai to witness the final match of the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup and then congratulate the tournament winners.
The PCB Chief was very proud and looked elated as he handed over the Rising Stars Asia Cup trophy to Pakistan and the same was expected from him in the Men’s Senior Asia Cup. As of now, it is expected that the presentation will once again be led by the Chairman of the ACC, and this is where another major controversy could unfold.
The Indian U-19 team will be chasing the ACC Men’s U-19 title and if they win the trophy and deny taking it from the ACC Chairman, it could lead to another major controversy between the BCCI and Mohsin Naqvi.
Pak media reports that Mohsin Naqvi is on his way to Dubai. Will he insist on presenting the trophy? What happens after the final? There’s some drama brewing, I think. @ACCMedia1 #Under19AsiaCup

India U-19 have carried over the legacy of indifference from their senior team in the Asia Cup
The Youth Indian team has continued the same legacy as their Senior Men’s side. India U-19 have also denied handshakes with the rival nation, something that started when Suryakumar Yadav denied a handshake to Salman Agha during their first meeting in the Asia Cup group stages.
The two teams have remained indifferent and India have not indulged in post-match activities or friendly exchanges between the cricketers. However, on a personal level, there were some heart-warming scenes of an Indian cricketer tying the laces for a Pakistani batsman.
If India win, they can continue with their refusal to receive the trophy from the ACC chairman. Suryakumar Yadav’s team denied participation in the post-match presentation as Mohsin Naqvi took the podium.
India U-19 have a huge target to chase to win the U-19 Asia Cup title
Pakistan Under-19 lost the last time they played against India Under-19 as they failed to chase down a small target of 241. This time, though, batting first, the Pakistanis set up a huge target for the Indians to chase.
Sameer Minhas once again put in a fine performance with the bat to finish on 172 off just 113 balls, while being supported in the middle order by Ahmed Hussain and Usman Khan. Pakistan posted a challenging total of 347 in their 50 overs.
For any of the above-mentioned circumstances to occur, the Indian Under-19 team will have to chase down the huge target of 348 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will play a huge role alongside captain Ayush Mhatre, Aaron George and also double centurion Abhigyan Kundu.
