Czechs Tomas Machac and Jiri Lehecka will be part of the schedule of the fourth round on the US Open on Sunday. Machac is going against no. 4 Seed Taylor Fritz, while Lehecka is confronted with ineffected Adrian Mannarino.

(21) Tomas Machac vs. (4) Taylor Fritz

The pressure is on Fritz after Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe have left the US Open Friday unexpectedly. Fritz came all the way to the last summer in New York and his Encore version starts strong. The fourth ranking in fourth place made easy work by Emiliano Nava and then was inspired by Lloyd Harris and Jerome Kym-Zege in four sets.

The next for Fritz is a fourth round showdown against Machac, which follows the head-to-head series 2-0. Their 2025 United Cup collision was extremely competitive until Machac retired in the second and their only other meeting went five years ago five years ago in Roland Garros. If he is healthy, Machac has impressed the past two seasons. The 24-year-old is a maximum of number 22 in the ranking, thanks in part to his first ATP title earlier this year in Acapulco. Machac is one of the most mercurial players on tour. If he is good, he can play top-five tennis; If he is not, he can be clamped by much lower ranked opponents. Most Machac Maches are fast, and this should not be an exception.

Pick: Fritz in 3

Adrian Mannarino vs. (20) Jiri Lehecka

Lehecka and Mannarino will be in their career for the third time in their career on Sunday. It is a huge match for both boys, each playing for the first time in the US Open Fourth Round. In the 18th performance of Mannarino in New York (including qualification), he needed some help to finally reach the third round bump. The 37-year-old Frenchman followed Shelton two sets to one on Friday before the sixth-rocket American sustained a hip injury and retired prior to a fifth. Mannarino preceded that result with routine victories on Tallon Greekspoor and Jordan Thompson.

Lehecka hit his ticket to the last 32 by beating Borna Coric, Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Raphael Collingnon. The 21st ranking disc also reached the round of 16 in Washington, DC, Tornoto and Cincinnati, so he plays well. Unfortunately for Lehecka it is difficult to claim that this is a favorable matchup for him. Mannarino likes to absorb the pace of opponents, and Lehecka certainly brings that off the table. The World No. 77 will probably frustrate Lehecka in extensive baseline meetings, which controls the 20th seed to go too much – because he doesn’t do that yet. Mannarino who wins this extraction would not be a big upset.

Pick: Mannarino in 4
