- Toyota debuted the track-focused GR Yaris Morizo RR at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
- It gets a sharper suspension, an improved AWD system and lightweight carbon aerodynamics.
- Only 200 copies worldwide, pricing yet to be announced.
Just when you thought the global GR Yaris couldn’t get any cooler, Toyota debuted this. It’s called the GR Yaris Morizo RR, a limited edition Yaris designed for the track. It made its world debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon this year.
The GR Yaris Morizo RR relies heavily on its motorsport DNA. Developed with direct input from Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda, the Morizo RR builds on lessons learned from endurance racing, including the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

The car uses the same direct automatic transmission from the GR Corolla here in the United States, tuned for quicker shifts and improved control. The suspension also gets sharper and there’s a new dedicated 4WD mode with 50:50 torque split.
Visually, the Morizo RR certainly looks good. It has a carbon fiber rear wing and front spoiler that increase downforce while helping to reduce weight. Yellow brake calipers add some contrast to the Gravel Khaki paint, and the interior gets a few subtle upgrades, most notably a special suede-trimmed racing steering wheel.
Toyota plans to build just 200 units of the GR Yaris Morizo RR worldwide, split equally between Japan and Europe. Interested buyers will have to sign up for a lottery system if they want to get their hands on one. We don’t know one thing yet: how much this special GR Yaris will cost.
We can only imagine how expensive it will be given its rarity.

Taking Motor1s: The GR Yaris rules. This one rules even harder. Make a GR Corolla Morizzo RR, you cowards.
