This week has been one of those weeks that have already become too familiar for NATS fans this season. After playing solid baseball for a few weeks, things are simply fully implied. The bull pen that pitches well for a while can no longer get out, the defense is schoolboy level and the attack is usually quiet.
These patterns have defined the National season. They play a decent baseball. Win two of the three for a few series, maybe two of the three fall on a good team. However, they have these runs where the soil just drops. The 11 game loses streak in June, the 8 game loses streak until August and now this losing series in September. This team simply cannot stop bleeding.
The strange thing is that it is all aspects of the game that just fall apart. These runs have no clear places. In addition to CJ Abrams and another Daylen Lile Triple, there was not much to stick to last night. Last night the Nats committed Three errorsAll in the outfield. This is why I called this the most embarrassing National Team.
Besides these crazy losing points, the Nationals show some good things from time to time. In September is a great example of this National cycle. The Nats actually started very well this month. Before this losing series, the Nationals actually started the month with a record of 9-4. They looked very clear in the series against the Marlins and Cubs to start the month.
Before this losing series, the NATS actually won a series against the Pirates. The bullpen locked games with Clayton Beeter and Jose A. Ferrer at the back of the pen. However, that bull pen is fully capitulated in this losing series.
When the NATS lose due to a point or two, the bullpen really has trouble stopping the bleeding.
