Here are three things that we will keep an eye on all day around the baseball world:
1. Raleigh goes for 50:
Yesterday, Star Catcher and AL MVP candidate Cal Raleigh Enjoyed a multi-gay game in which he crushed his 48th and 49th homers of the season. That few dingers saw him bind and then claim the only possession of the record for most home runs affected by a catcher in one season, so that the efforts of the efforts are overshadowed Salvador Perez In 2021. Now that record claimed, waiting for Raleigh begins to settle as the first 50-homer catcher in MLB history. The superstar of Seattle cuts .247/.353/.593 with a WRC+ from 160 so far this year, and his 7.3 fwar lets him tied up with reigning already MVP Aaron Judge For the MLB lead. Raleigh will try to reach the 50 Homer plateau–and keep strengthening his MVP case–against the Padres and left hand JP Sears this evening. The Schakel-Hitting Raleigh excelled from both sides of the plate in 2025, but has been better when he was right-handed swing, with a .281/.337/.693 Slash and 19 large flies in just 166 plate performances.
2. Winn to undergo MRI:
Cardinals Short Stop Extraction is planned to undergo an MRI on his knee today, as passed on by Mlb.com’s John Denton. Denton adds that Winn has already undergone an MRI on the same knee in July that turned out to look like “A little something,” But that winnin hopes to play what he is sick this season and the possibility of saving an arthroscopic procedure on his knee for the low season. The cardinals are currently more or less buried in the NL Wild Card Race and Winn has only hit this knee problem in August .200/.259/.320. Despite that matte attack, Winn has stayed one of the very best defenders of the sport at ShortStop and it could be good for a NL Gold Glove Award in the position if he can penetrate until the end of the season without going to the wounded list.
3. Series preview: Phillies @ Mets
The Mets are seven games back from the Phillies in the rankings with a little more than a month to play, so that recording the NL East title makes a big task. Almost every path to a division title runs through this coming series, when the Phillies go to Queens for a three-game set. Cristopher Sanchez (2.46 ERA) will be on the hill for Philadelphia in tonight’s series opener, while the Mets come across Kodai Senga (2.58 ERA). That pitching duel will be followed by a few left -wing Tuesday, with Rome Petson (5.15 ERA in eight performances) On the bump for New York opposite Jesus Luzardo (4.10 ERA). The series will wrap with veteran Righty Taijuan Walker (3.44 ERA) On the hill for Philadelphia against Mets Rookie Nolan McLeanwhich has only allowed two points over 12 1/3 innings in his first two MLB -Starts (1.46 ERA).
