The Phoenix Suns will not be very good next season – the most predictive that they have difficulty winning more than 30 games – but that does not mean that every player will have a down year. Then there is Jalen Green, the 23-year-old with explosive score potential who might just need a change of environment to start his career. His first Playoff experience last season was far from perfect, but you don’t hang 38 points on the Golden State Warriors in that area without having anything to you.

Canadian Dillon Brooks doesn’t get that much love from Phoenix – but you only have to take one look at the fans of Houston Rocket to lose – to realize how important he will be. He will be their best perimeter defender and quarterback the team from that place, who will be invaluable for a rookie such as Kaman Maluach center.
The idea of the 29-year-old who makes an All-Star team has always appeared unlikely, but the NBA may have done him a huge favor in that respect. That is because in 2026 the size for the exhibition will change in the middle season, and as part of that there will be a team world roster that Brooks would be eligible for.

Fans in the US do not want to hear this, but that world team is just as competitive as it has ever been. Brooks has no chance in addition to Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and even fellow countryman Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. But two things work here, although you are not nice to think about.
The first is simple and unhappy, and they are injuries for other boys. How often have we seen Doncic some games with a tight calf, or even worse, what happened to Victor Wembanyama immediately after the All-Star match last season. Since then he can no longer be seen on a competitive basketball court. So Brooks could come in based on the fact that they are available, which can be half the fight.
But if the Suns exceeds expectations at all, it would in combination with the fact that he is a villain that of hatred, can give him the talent and the story to see him squeak. Think about it, who would take the game more seriously than Brooks? It would be if the NBA final for him, and that would include if he ended up on a new teammate Booker.
