Hayley Matthews has excluded from WCPL 2025

Barbados Royals had a considerable blow on the eve of their WCPL title defense, with a shoulder injury that excludes their captain Hayley Matthews throughout the season.

Allrounder Chinelle Henry will lead Royals in the absence of Matthews.

Matthews is the leading Run-Getter of the WCPL (424 with a success rate of 113.06) and Wicket-Taker (23 with an economy of 5.79), and an important player in the title-winning campaigns of Royals from 2023 and 2024. 82 and player of the series in the 2024 season.
