The LIV golf season of 2025 ended with a dramatic relegation struggle in the Liv Golf Indianapolis resulted in six players who stopped the competition before 2026.
Players who end up 49th or lower in the individual seasonal classification are automatically degraded and must earn their way back through the international series during the Asian tour or through the promotion event of LIV Golf.
Who were the six players who occupied the dreaded “drop -zone” positions and after the relegation of Liv Golf after the 2025 regular season?
Liv Golf 2025 relegated players
Henrik Stenson (Majesticks GC)
The open champion of 2016 and co-captain of Majesticks GC missed the Safety ENG the slankest margin and finished 49th. Despite the efforts, he fell into the drop zone after he finished 22nd place during the last event.
The internal struggle of the Majesticks GC team in particular was dramatic with fellow-co-captain Ian Poulter who saved himself from relegation through a strong finish in Indianapolis and indirectly cause Stenson’s relegation.
Andy Ogletree (Hyflyers GC)
Ogletree fought throughout the season with a persistent wrist injury. His best finish was a draw for the 18th in Liv Golf United Kingdom, but he finished 50th in general.
Mito Pereira (GC couple)
Pereira had a bittersweet finish. Although his team won at Liv Golf Indianapolis, his individual draw for 36th was not enough to prevent relegation and place him 51st.
Yubin Jang (Iron Heads GC)
The Rookie struggled for consistency with only one Top-25 Finish throughout the season. He finished 53rd, well within the drop zone.
Anthony Kim (Yoker sign)
The long -awaited return from Kim to professional wave did not yield enough points, ended with zero and ranked 53rd or lower, which led to his relegation.
Frederik Kjettrup (Cleks GC)
Kjettrup was another newcomer who was unable to secure the points needed to stay, end the season without points and finished last among full -time players.
Liv Golf Standings & Degradations System format
The relegation system of the competition categorizes players as follows:
Locking zone – The top 24 in points are in the “Lock Zone” and guarantee their places for the following season.
Open zone -Players are arranged 25-48 in the “open zone” and stay in the competition, although they are vulnerable to transactions or releases.
Drip zone – players arranged 49 and are lower in the “drop zone” that lead to automatic relegation. Players who are confronted with relegation still have potential paths back through qualifying events, but have to perform strongly to regain their LIV golf status.
