KDGT 2025 Winner Angad Cheema achieved back-to-back titles with a four-stroke victory in the Coal India Open in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The lanky Chandigarh golfer took where he had been released for the summer holidays with the inaugural RS 1 Crore event trophy at Kensville Golf & Country Club, the PGTI said.
Cheema (69-67-69-70) shot a closure 2 under the 70 on Friday for a total of 13 under 275 in his fourth PGTI victory.
The 35-year-old took a check home worth RS 15 Lakh who lifted him from tenth to second place in the PGTI order of merit with the income of the season of RS 55.56,726.
Noida’s Amardep Malik (69-65-72-71) created a solid second place to climb 27 places to 21star On the PGTI order of merit.
Delhi’s Shaurya Bhattacharya (70) and Udayan Mane (71) van Pune shared third place at 7 under 281.
Yuvraj Sandhu (71) from Chandigarh finished the week fifth at 6 under 282 to continue the management on the PGTI money list with the income of the season of RS 58.67.200.
Early break
Cheema started with an advantage of a stroke and built on the lead on the front nine on Friday with four Birdies against a fallen shot.
At the back nine, two long Birdie conversions from 15 to 25 feet saw him at home despite three cases shot at holes 12 and 17.
“It was a brilliant week because I played well from start to finish and didn’t make many mistakes,” Cheema said later. “I would say that I finally placed better than others.
“I made some long conversions in every round and would like to give the honor for my well this week to my Caddy Khushi Ram who gave me the right lines and speed on the Greens.
“It was nice to play in the last two rounds in addition to my good friend and roommate Amardeep.
Good comparison
“We share a great comparison and so we enjoyed many airy joke that played in the leadership group for the past two days, making the atmosphere just facilitated.
“It feels great to win back-to-back and contributes to my determination to play even better in the future,” added Cheema, who ended an 11-year-old title dried last season.
Malik, who walked Cheema with a shot after round three, mixed three birdies with four bogeys on the day to slip out of the battle.
The delhi -based amateur rakshit Dahiya won the trophy for the best performance of an amateur after he finished 10one on 1 under 287.
Ahmedabad’s Varun Parikh shared 19one Place, end the week with a total of 1 above 289.
