We’re already halfway there, but that doesn’t mean you have to live on prayer. After all, last week our stashes were Tyrone Tracy and Chimere Dike! There is always gold to be found if you look hard, so let’s start looking. Every week I bring you an article where I answer two simple questions: who should I stream this week and who should I save for the future?
To keep things simple, we’ll define a streamer as any player you wouldn’t normally pick up and who is a viable option this week. They may be on your bench or they may be on waivers depending on your league. We define a stash as any player you could potentially find on waivers that you should save for the future, either because there’s a favorable matchup ahead or because they could become a future fantasy starter.

QB streamers:
Caleb Williams (CHI): It’s hard to feel good about Caleb Williams right now and I have to know that he is one of my most beloved quarterbacks. But if a Garrett Wilson-less Justin Fields can put 39 on the Bengals, I’m confident Williams will have a good game in Week 9. I’ll start him wherever I have him.
Kyler Murray (ARI): He’s injured and hasn’t had a 20-point game yet this season, but I’m starting Kyler Murray against the Cowboys without even thinking about it.
Joe Flacco (CIN): Age means nothing to Joe Flacco. He’s bizarrely been the QB7 for the past three weeks and now he gets a fantastic matchup against the Bears. With four teams seeing you, here’s a third streamer for you.
QB Save:
JJ McCarthy (MIN): I know he’s only two games into his NFL career, but I believe JJ McCarthy has the potential to be a solid fantasy starter for the rest of the season. But it won’t be against the Lions this week. So I’m putting him in deeper leagues for the favorable upcoming games against the Ravens and Bears.
RB streamers:
Tyrone Tracy (NYG): Last week I recommended stocking up on Tyrone Tracy and I bet you’re glad you did! He’s a solid weekly RB2 who won’t get the same goal-line usage as Cam Skattebo, but still provides a good volume floor in an improved Giants offense.
Zonovan Knight (ARI): The Cardinals have made it abundantly clear who their starter is, releasing Michael Carter and adding him back to their practice squad. It’s going to be the Zonovan Knight show against the Cowboys, so I’m starting Bam at RB2.
Kyle Monangai (CHI): There’s no better running back matchup in football than the Bengals. Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis racked up more than 50 combined fantasy points last week and the Bears’ offense is more potent. I’m starting both D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai because they’re almost a 50-50 split now.
RB repositories:
TreVeyon Henderson (NE): Last week’s 75-yard explosion is enough to give TreVeyon Henderson owners hope this season, and to some extent I agree. It’s definitely worth selecting, but I wouldn’t start yet.
Running Backs get injured more often than any other player in fantasy, with the average Top 36 running back in fantasy missing two games per season. For that reason, the best bet in fantasy is to use running backs who are one injury away from a down role. Each week I’ll list my favorite RB stocks, including the players you won’t get to play with most weeks.
Top Handcuffs: Blake Corum, Brian Robinson, RJ Harvey, Ollie Gordon, Isaiah Davis, Kareem Hunt, Emanuel Wilson, Bhayshul Tuten, Ameer Abdullah, Jaydon Blue, Raheem Mostert, Keaton Mitchell, Ty Johnson, Devin Neal
WR streamers:
Jauan Jennings (SF): The Giants have always been bad at stopping opposing wide receivers, so I’m starting Jauan Jennings with cautious confidence. And if you need a depth option, I think Kendrick Bourne is a viable deep starter available in many leagues.
Alec Pierce (IND): The Steelers are very weak against the deep pass, making Alec Pierce a high option this week. It’s risky, but especially in non-PPR and semi-PPR leagues, I’m willing to take the plunge.
Calvin Austin (PIT): This is a big draw for those in foul trouble, but I think Calvin Austin has a lot of upside against a Colts defense that has given up the second-most points to WRs. Austin is the clear WR2 for Pittsburgh and the team uses their receivers a lot more in tracking, as they should against Indy.
WR repositories:
Darius Slayton (NYG): The Giants have started moving the ball more effectively and appeared intent on involving Darius Slayton more in his return from injury. He’s worth a stock in deeper leagues given his clear advantage in an offense that can no longer rely on Cam Skattebo.
TE streamers:
Kyle Pitts (ATL): To me, Kyle Pitts is essentially a weekly starter given the lack of depth at the position. But here’s another reminder for you. Start Pitts.
Colston Loveland (CHI): I had extremely little confidence in Colston Loveland entering the season, as rookie tight ends usually start very slowly, and it was very clear from the preseason that he was behind Cole Kmet (yes, I have receipts). But I’m willing to start him this week with Kmet out and against the Bengals, who are giving up points to anyone with a pulse at this point. There is a low floor, but a modest ceiling.
TE storage:
David Njoku (CLE): The Browns are having their bye week, but I’m picking up David Njoku for the future. He’ll likely return to his split with Harold Fannin Jr once he’s healthy and the Browns play a ton of 2TE sets, which helps both. Additionally, if he is traded, there are a few landing spots that give him solid upside as well.
K streamers:
Michael Badgley (IND): I can’t believe the Colts kicker is still unowned in most leagues. I recognize that it changed from Spencer Shrader to Michael Badgley and some people might have noticed, but come on! Stay active people.
Tyler Loop (BAL): You can’t go too much wrong with starting kickers against Miami. Unless they randomly blow out the Falcons, like last week apparently. But I’ll be back for another go with a much better Ravens side that’s healthy again.
Daylight Savings Streamers:
Chargers DST (LAC): I know the Chargers DST is bottom half this season, but I start anyone who faces the Titans and this week is no exception.
Rams DST (LAR): It’s an all-LA defensive scheme this week as the Rams challenge rookie Tyler Shough for his first start, and you have to have a feeling it won’t be pretty.
Please note: I will not be offering kicker or DST stocks. You should never bench kickers or DSTs in redraft leagues. There are virtually no exceptions. Please don’t do it.
