For all his potential, Savinho has struggled to make an impact at the Etihad Stadium, with just two goals and two assists in 23 appearances so far this season.
We know that Tottenham showed a strong interest in the Brazilian winger last summer, with a £70 million bid quickly rejected by City. I’m told Spurs’ interest still exists, even if there have been no new contacts or approaches. Also keep an eye on Juventus and La Liga clubs.
Yet many people I have spoken to insist that City’s position is crystal clear: Savinho is seen as ‘untouchable’. City sporting director Hugo Viana is apparently ‘convinced’ of the youngster’s potential, while Pep Guardiola is determined to transform him into a world-class winger.
Should experienced figures like Bernardo Silva leave, which is a big possibility this summer, the creative burden in attack is expected to fall even more heavily on Savinho’s shoulders.
His new contract, which runs until June 2031, gives City enormous influence. Financially speaking, the club does not need to sell, which further strengthens Savinho’s position. A possible exit would only be possible at a starting price of £75-80m, although insiders insist that even such figures carry little weight within the current strategy.
I have also been told that Savinho is happy at Manchester City and is fully focused on continuing his journey there.
As things stand, he has not spoken to or considered seeking a transfer with any other club. The player simply focused on playing regularly for City and forcing his way into Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Of course, there is always a chance that things could change if City become active again when it comes to strengthening their attack.
We saw Antoine Semenyo arrive from Bournemouth in January and links continue with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. I’m personally not aware of anything happening on that front at the moment, but it’s something that could be revisited in the summer and would certainly have an impact on Savinho’s future.
