Postponement of marriage due to family emergency

Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal were supposed to get married on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra. The pre-wedding celebrations, including haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremonies, had already taken place. However, the couple decided to postpone the wedding after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a sudden health emergency and had to be hospitalized.

Palaash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed that it was Palaash who decided to postpone the wedding due to the emotional stress surrounding Smriti’s father’s condition. He reportedly refused to continue with the rituals despite completing the haldi ceremony. The incident reportedly saw Palaash briefly hospitalized for observation.

Social media speculation

After the postponement, Smriti deleted pre-wedding photos from her social media accounts, sparking rumors and speculations online. Some unverified reports suggested possible trouble between Smriti and Palaash, but neither the party nor their families have made any public statements.
