Shane Smith blinded with the help of various RBIs. Although there were no home runs in today’s game, the White Runs made and won the series against the rays.
Chandler Simpson started the game with a single and his 40th stolen base. The rays struggled to take advantage of the speed star, leaving him lagging behind. Without wasting at any time, the good things started in their first. Chase girl hit the midfield, and former Ray, Curtis Mead, doubled from the wall. With one out, Colson Montgomery entered with an RBI single, who sent Meidroth and Mead home and raised the SOX 2-0.
Annoyed by the multiple hits in his direction, Jake Mangum hit a single in the first of the second and successfully second. For the second time in the game it was clear that the Korey Lee/Colson Montgomery tandem did not work. With a little déjà vu in the game, the runner was stranded. Unfortunately, the SOX retired on the bottom of the frame.
Simpson hit again to lead the third, but Smith kept the rays off the board again. Meidroth started the bottom of the third with a walk, but the theme of the game continued: the runner was left behind.
Meidroth not only did it great to get base today, but was just as good with taking a single after a nice catch to get the first in the fourth. Smith continued to impress with back-to-back strikeouts. Miguel Vargas worked a walk to start the bottom of the inning. With one out he was able to wipe second on a bad throw, but everything would be in vain because the SOX was unable to capitalize.
Smith enabled battle people in order, still on kissing without walks and 86 throws through five innings. Now 2-out-2 with his third time at the base, Meidroth once again hit the bottom of the fifth. Unfortunately, with one out, Mead hit in a double play.
Against the sixth inning, Simpson 3-out-3 hit the head of Montgomery with a single, causing the SOX bull pen. As if he knew what I had typed moments ago, Smith gave his first walk of the game and put two runners on the bases. Junior Caminero stood on a doubles to Meidroth. Simpson moved to third place during the piece, and Smith, who had a great game, usually escaped a jam before he came from the hill. Tyler Gilbert stepped in and let Christoper Morel become swinging. In half of home, Edgar Quero gathered his first hit of the game with a line drive to the right field. With one out and a new Rays whistle, Vargas ended up on the base via a hit-by-pack. With a bit of luck, Michael A. Taylor hit a single ball that was missed by two Rays players, which sent Quero home.
Before Brooks Baldwin collected a walk to load the bases, Taylor also stole second. Kyle Teel stepped into the game to squeeze in a crucial moment and gilded two with a huge smile on his face. With the hit he expanded his on-base streak to 20 and tied Bo Bichette. Meidroth took his second walk and again loaded the bases in the frame for the second time, but Mead came empty to end the inning. De Goeden extended their lead to 5-0.
Brandon Eisert only gave up one hit in the first half of the seventh and the SOX was retired for the lower half. Tyler Alexander stepped in for the eighth and gave up back-to-back singles with one out. Caminero got up, but Simpson was able to score and changed the score to 5-1. Morel took a walk, but Alexander escaped further damage with a well -placed strikeout. The SOX was retired in order. Without unnecessary drama, Jordan Lasure closed the game with three fast outs and took the series from the rays.
