White Sox Minor League Update: September 11, 2025

Omaha Storm Chasers 11, Charlotte Knights 3 ((Status box))
Charlotte’s pitching and the staff struggled to endure it: 15 hits, seven free runs and two home runs. To add insult, Omaha Fielder MJ Moelendez beat for the cycle. Although four of the 11 runs were undeserved, Knights (62-79) could not take on the challenge for a third right loss. The Knights took a lead of one run in the top of the first after the production of a run on a SAC fly by Andre Lipcius to score Drake Logan, which led the game with a two-squeeze, but that little lead did not last long.

Righthander Owen White threw the first three innings away, and if he was not for the Solo Home Run, he indicated that the game had bound one, his start was good: one point on four hits, a hit batter, a walk, a beam and four strikeouts. However, as soon as the ball was handed over to the Bullpen, things got a bit out of hand. Evan McKendry took over and was solid in the fourth, but Omaha tagged him for five points in the fifth and two in the sixth, making it 8-3. Only three of the seven runs that McKendry gave up were earned, but three of the four undeserved runs were due to his own Gooifout during a Pickoff attempt with two out. The other previously stem in the inning from a field error by Jacob Gonzalez. McKendry did not end surprisingly with his ninth loss of the season, which meant six hits, three free runs and two strikeouts.

In an attempt to fight back while he was five points in the sixth, Timoo began to bring a short rally to the middle, followed by Andre Lipcius who took his second RBI of the game on a triple to the left. Bryan Ramos brought him home on the next battle on a bag that cut Omaha’s lead in two, 6-3, but unfortunately those were the last runs that the knights would score. The attack went 1-from-6 with runners in a score position and left six on the base as a team.

Because the storm hunters added two more in the sixth, Cam Vlaader was out before the seventh attempt to stop bleeding. But angry the inning started by giving up a solo recording to turn it into 9-3. The Southpaw hit a batter and then allowed two hits – including the double that sealed the cycle for Melendez – and another point before Peyton Pallette was selected to get the last one. He was able to do it, but not without running the first batter he faced each other to keep everyone sharp. The eighth inning was almost the same story, because Jairo Iriart gave up the 11th and last run after two walks and two singles, and Tommy Vail came in as the last pitcher for the knights to secure the last out … and the loss.

Birmingham Barons 7Biloxi Shuckers 6
The barons (80-55) blew a six-run lead in the sixth, but Wilfred Veras was able to ride in what was ultimately the winning run on a sacrificial battle in the seventh to drop the Shuckers (72-63), 7-6, a much-needed bounce-back match after the first two of the series. The Birmingham bats went off 10 hits and went 4-out-9 with runners in a score position, but left six on the bases as a team.

In the first, Biloxi had taken a lead of one run on a solo bomb of Barons-Starter Hagen Smith, but the batters of Birmingham were immediately at work and replied back with four points in the lower half of the inning. Rikuu Nishida reached the basis by being hit, William Bergolla followed that with a single and Ryan Galanie rode in the first run on a RBI double. With two runners on, DJ Gladey made capitalized at the moment and hit a three-run explosion to take a 4-1 lead. They kept it rolling for two more runs in the bottom of the fourth; Jordan Sprinkle was responsible for the fifth run on an RBI Infield Base hit, and Nishida brought the sixth run on a double to left to bring the score to 6-1.

Smith had a bit of a strange outing, because he only allowed one hit in his four innings – the aforementioned Homer in the first – but he Real Could not get a grip on his control and six strikers walked out … while he also hit six. In 2025, Smith extended a insane block of batters (34% strikeout), but also runs against a brutal 16.7% percentage – almost 5% higher than the worst MLB walking percentage (12%), if you wondered. His saving grace is really that he misses a lot of bats, and working on his control is something he would have to concentrate in the low season.

Righthander Jared Kelley was the first in the barons bullpen, and the five-run lead slowly decreased when he got four points on two hits and two free running, including a three-run bomb that cut the Birmingham lead to one, 6-5. This game began to feel that it could be a Birmingham outburst, but the Shuckers did not go down without a fight.

Carson Jacobs was in charge of the next two innings and because baseball is fun and cool, he ended up with the bloated salvation And The victory, which seems to be a White Sox Minor League specialty this season. Jacobs gave up a home run to bind the game at six o’clock, but the barons could take the lead back in the 2nd bottom of the seventh. DJ Gladney ran and stole the second base to kick things off, and the Shuckers -Catcher assisted with a throw error to put Gladney in third place. Wilfred Veras went on and a sacrifice was everything needed to steal the leadership.

Fortunately, there were no further bull pen disturbances. Eric Adler and Tyler Davis closed Biloxi for the last two innings, and Davis earned his third save with a clean inning and two strikeouts to end the competition.
