In the midst of Los Angeles Dodgers Superstar Mookie Betts’ struggles this season, the idea is to push him lower in the batting order a legitimate point of discussion for manager Dave Roberts.
While the seemingly endless malaise has passed for Betts, the skipper spoke about what he intends to do with Betts’ place in the carpet.

“The more I think about it, Mookie is someone I am not going to get lower in the order,” said Roberts. “I just feel that you weigh the options, the alternatives and things like that, I continue to believe in him and trust that he is the best option, whether it is in one or the two, and that is what we are going to roll with.
“So I think the questions are honest for moving him and things like that, but this man is a premium player and he is just in this extensive funk. But he will work out from this. I just feel the best version of our ballclub is it somewhere at the top of the order.”
Betts has recently been moved from number 2 to Leadoff, but has since returned to his original place.
Hours after Roberts showed his confidence in his superstar, something extremely promising took place during Tuesday’s victory: Betts had his first three hit competition since 7 June. The short stop went 3-out-4 with a walk on the way to the 66th victory of the year of the Dodgers.
Betts .236/.308/.361 with a .669 Ops. Since its last three-hit match, the short stop has only been hit with a .533 Ops.
Although drawing has shown on Tuesday evening of things that turn around, there is even more work to do, because Betts will look to continue to produce similar results and to leave this career-strict slip behind.
As for Roberts, his confidence in the short stop is not taken.
“I think for me it doesn’t give him anything. It appreciates that he is the best option we have at the top, near the top,” said Roberts. “If that is not trusting from a manager to a player, I don’t know what is, if you shuffle and go through it, that I will not falter.
“So my only question for him, and I told him this is,” I want you to have as much confidence in yourself as I do. And it will change. “
