Tampa, Fla. – Shilo Sanders was abandoned by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, less than 24 hours after he was ejected from a previous season match for throwing a blow, a person with knowledge of the decision told the Associated Press on Sunday.
The person spoke with the AP on condition of anonymity because the team did not announce his cuts.
Sanders, the son of Hall of Fame Cornerback Deion Sanders, fought for a schedule place after he had come out of Colorado, where he played for his father. He was also punished for pass interference earlier in the 23-19 loss of Tampa Bay against Buffalo on Saturday evening.
“You can’t throw bumps into this competition. It’s unforgivable. They get you every time,” said Buccaneers -coach Todd Bowles. “You have to grow out of that.”
The Buccaneers can still add Sanders to the practice team if he is not claimed by another team.
Sanders, a hard and play safety in Colorado, had one impressive debut For the Buccaneers in the pre -season opener. But he had a strong competition to make the selection of Tampa Bay.
Sanders was busy with Zach Davidson for a few meters and pushed and pushed each other. He was marked immediately after throwing a blow that sent him to the dressing room.
It was a tough Saturday for both sons of “Coach Prime” in the preseason. Shedeur Sanders, a fifth round pick from Cleveland, was 3 of 6 to 14 yards and took five bags.
