Semenyo first Manchester City player since Aguero to make his debut

Antoine Semenyo enjoyed a Manchester City debut to remember after starring in the club’s FA Cup victory over Exeter City at the Etihad.

Semenyo completed his £62.5million transfer from Bournemouth on Friday before being immediately named in the starting line-up for the FA Cup third round tie.

City produced a dominant performance to beat League One 10-1 to become the first top-flight team since 1986 to score more than ten goals in a competitive match.

Semenyo earned man of the match honors after opening his Manchester City account with a goal and adding an assist after beating Rico Lewis.

The 26-year-old’s dream debut saw him become the first player to both score and assist on his debut for the Citizens since Sergio Agüero.

The Argentine was the last to achieve the feat when he made his first appearance for the club against Swansea City in August 2011.

If Semenyo can even come close to Aguero’s record-breaking performances in a Manchester City shirt, his big fee will be considered a bargain. The January signing is in full swing.
