See ‘Octavia’, Ringbrothers’ first Aston Martin

It does not matter whether it is Monterey Car Week or not, whether Ringbrothers announces a new car, you want to pay attention. It shows thousands of hours on creating some of the most extraordinary custom -made builds, always with an abundance of horsepower and an abundance of posture – see the Buick GNX (with 1,246 hp) and Plymouth Barracuda as proof. A Ringbrothers -Buildd is always a beautifully built monster, and that is precisely the case for its latest project: the 805 hp Octavia, once an Aston Martin DBS from 1971 and now, after 12,000 hours of work, reportedly the most advanced build of the Wisconsin company to date.

As usual, the design is inevitable. Ringbrothers had already confirmed that Octavia would be considerably wider than a stock car – fully eight centimeters wider in the carbon in front, 10 inches at the back – but those figures could not really convey the scandalability of reality. There were DBS racing cars – V8 Rham/1, also known as the Muncher, the most famous, with his ’77 Le Mans finish – but even they were made to look a bit tame against Octavia.

As you would expect, there is also a real consideration that went in, to ensure that this is a coherent design and not just a crazy widebody; The front wheels are moved three centimeters forward (it is now on an adapted Roadster Shop chassis), so that the wheelbase has some length to work against the massively elevated pane width. It is clear that almost everything has been made to measure, albeit with the aim of retaining cola-flesselhouette; Ringbrothers says that carbon work reflects the original look, “while his turns and contours are definitely chiseled and pronounced.” You can say that again. Octavia is really spectacular, in the best Ringbrothers tradition, but if you see a little Mustang in the front, then you are not alone …

Speaking of this, power for Octavia comes from a Ford Coyote 5.0 -Liter V8, with a Harrop Supercharger to free 805 Imperial Porther -or 816 metric, or not far from GTD power. But here it is with a manual six-speed gearbox, and that Headline Power figure is only the street melody, which suggests that more could come. Anyway, it gets phenomenally fast and phenomenal loud in one of its forms.

The use of Octavia’s Power is a celebration of top hardware for chassis, including Fox RS SV-Coilovers (with its own suspension arms from Ringbrothers), adapted Brembo brakes and one-off wheels: they are the result of Ragle Design and HRE collaboration, a Centrelock design to call on the original Aston Martin. It will be quite a bit of driving experience, that certainly seems.

But Ringbrothers did not forget the fun things either. The paint is double-0 silver, because why not, with accents in nuclear olive green; Under the hood, the valve valve for the V8 has an extra ‘me’, so it proudly says ‘Aston Martini’ in the 800 hp engine. Look very carefully and you will see a dipstick lever that is designed to look like a Martini glass. Easy to see where 12,000 hours have now been …

And that is even before I consider the interior of Octavia. Again, that much is tailor -made and new, but they have understood the assignment well, with abundant leather and metal everywhere – plus traditional dials to check that you are really going so fast. There also seems to be an incredible setup for ambient light and view the boot, with even more beautiful leather and carbon. The quality of craftsmanship is what so often marks a Ringbrothers car (together with hundreds of horsepower), and that is certainly still evidence with Octavia. Even co-owner Jim Ring believes that this DBS has engineering and attention to detail “in contrast to everything we have done before”. That says something of them.

The Other Ring Brother, Mike, Added: “It’s Nearly Impossible to Convey All the Intricacies That Went Into Engineering This Car. It Pushed Us to Innovate Beyond Our Comfort Zone And Create A Moving Mechanical Work Of America The Ferocity of Americity of Americity of American Sophistication and Motoring. The special relationship has never produced so great. What the hell do Ringbrothers do then?
