As others have said in the past, it always feels a bit strange when you notice that you agree with Richard Keys.
On this occasion he is definitely on the ball.
Indeed, this time Richard Keys stands out in a very positive way.
Given how the rest of the media are almost completely ignored what happened on Sunday.
Richard Keys who points out what happened in St James’ Park when Newcastle United takes on Arsenal.
Richard Keys write about his personal blog – September 29, 2025:
“Top markings for my title tips Arsenal.
“I was crucial last week, but they were great in Newcastle.
“I should say that the match winner Gabriel was lucky to be on the field when he walked you.
“He should have gone after he had beaten Woltemade in the first half.
“That was violent behavior, so it comes in VAR’s track, so what did they do in the bunker? How did they not see it?”
It was amazing, as Richard Keys said that not only the referee on the Pitch Gillett did not do anything (it didn’t see?) When Gabriel attacked Nick Woltemade, but then the VAR (Darren England) did not step in and not only made the arsenal defender red.
At the time, Newcastle United had just taken the lead and Gabriel was embarrassed and bumped his dive on the ground when he was easily beaten by the United Striker, not brought a soft free kick and denied the goal.
Gabriel then attacked Woltemade at the balls incident that Arsenal should have seen up to ten men. That would have insured anything but a victory in Newcastle, certainly excluding a late Gabriel winner.
It was all very reminiscent of what Virgil van Dijk did in December 2024, Anthony Gordon of the ball attacked in the penalty area, who should have seen a red card for the Liverpool defender and a fine for Newcastle.
