Oliver Glasner urged Marc Guehi to stay in Crystal Palace after their victory of the conference in Frederikstad.
The Eagles won their first European match 1-0 against their Norwegian opponents in the play-offs of the Conference League, where Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the only goal.
The French striker played in the victory and took a total of three shots, two of which were on goal and the other reached the post, and also created two opportunities for his teammates.
The headlines prior to the competition were dominated by the absence of Ebereechi Eze, which is said to be close to securing his move through London to Arsenal.
Club captain Marc Guehi is also connected to a move this summer, with Liverpool apparently interested in acquiring the defender.
Guehi’s contract in Selhurst Park will be going on next summer, but chairman Steve Parish insisted that the club does not want the 25-year-old to leave.
Palace can no longer register players for their second stage against Fredrikstad next week, and Glasner hopes that Guehi will be available for selection.
After their first European victory, Glasner said: “We had 17 players available on the field. One of the Academy, two players we already told that they had to leave the club. So that means we are 14 and have six games from 10 August to 31 August.

“This group, I know we can rely on them. I trust them completely. But it is really not the best way to start in the season.
“With the results, third game, no defeat, that is all good. But I think we are under the edge.
“I only know if Marc leaves and is not available for Frederikstad, we will have major problems. That is pretty clear. We can’t register anyone. So he has to stay on my side.”
