Ranking Movers: Schoolkate joins eight other Aussie men in the Top 100

Nine Australian men come to the ATP Singles Top 100 while Tristan Schoolkate comes to the exclusive club for the first time.

Men’s Singles

The Canadian masters turned out to be fertile for the Australian men, with nine now arranged in the Top 100.

Tristan Schoolkate was rewarded for his breakout season with his top 100 debut. The 24-year-old took on his first victory against a top 50 opponent against Joao Fonseca in the opening round to achieve a double digits.

“Top 100. Proud of work, hungry for more. Keep going,” he posted on social media.

Schoolkate was one of the seven Australians who progressed to the second round in Toronto – most since 1988.

The quarter-final berth of Alexei Pofyrin in Toronto raised him in the top 20 for the first time. The 26-year-old defeated Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune to continue to his third quarterfinals of the year.

At other rankers, James Duckworth returned to the top 100 after he also reached the second round, while Adam Walton and Aleksandar Vukic had strong rises.

In the meantime, James McCabe moved into the Australian top 10 for the first time.

The quarter-final performance by John-Patrick Smith in Toronto resulted in his first top 50-doublebar.

The 37-year-old and Brazilian partner Fernando Rombijste Australian Open 2025 Handubbelskampioenen Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten to reach the last eight.

Smith’s second ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinals of 2025 lifted him above his previous career-best ranking of World No. 52 in September 2017.

Ladies doubles

Maya Joint climbed in the double rankings after Canadian, moved five places to World No. 64.

The Australian teenager recorded a victory in her first WTA 1000 Doubles campaign when she collaborated with the American Caty McNally to beat the experienced couple, Desirae Krawczyk and Giuliana Olmos.

Kimberly Birrell moved back in the Top 150, which continued her strong season in Doubles. In 2025, Birrell reached the round of 16 in the Australian Open and Wimbledon, while also reaching the quarterfinals in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Singles for Women

Daria Kasatkina and Joint remain in the WTA top 50 after solid montreal campaigns.

Kasatkina, no.1 from Australia, goes to World No.17 after her performance on the third round. The 28-year-old flew past Anna Blinkova before a brave attempt against no. 24 Seed Marta Kostyuk falls short.

Joint also improved her ranking after her Montreal version when she wrecked her loss of the first round in Washington to World No.26 Leylah Fernandez.
