Tonight’s UFC 320 event was led by a light heavyweight title fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira.
Ankalaev (20-2-1 MMA) and Pereira (14-3 MMA) were originally collided in March of this year on UFC 313, where the 33-year-old Russian ran away with a unanimous decision victory to claim the light heavy-weight world title of the promotion.
Magomed Ankalaev had entered the Rematch of tonight with a three-fog winning series, because he had previously won victories over Johnny Walker and Aleksandar Rakic before he finally had the title away from ‘Patan’.
In the meantime, Alex Pereira wanted to return to the form that he saw decreasing from five consecutive victories and three title defenses within the promotion’s Light Heavyweight Division tonight on T-Mobile. Before ‘Patan’ was postponed by Ankalaev, ‘Patan’ had achieved four stop wins in a row, including victories at Khalil Rountree JR, Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka (X2).
Tonight’s UFC 320 Main Event resulted in an absolutely dominant performance by Alex Pereira. ‘Patan’ came out super aggressively and eventually he tagged Magomed Ankalaev with a large right hand around one minute of the opening frame. That shot clearly rocked the Russian and led him to shoot at a Takedown. Pereira finally filled the attempt and took the top position on the ground. From there, Alex continued to unleash a number of large punches and finally ended the fight with some wild elbows. In the end Pereira only needed 80 seconds to reclaim his light heavyweight title.
