I would periodically update my personal expenses. This is something that I decide to start in 2025, because this blog is visited less compared to the last time I felt comfortable to share.
You can view my earlier spending logbooks by going here in the future to the personal notes of investment canals.
How I group my expenses.
One of the reasons for publishing the expenditure is to show people how expenditure should be. Some wonder whether it is consistent or irregular, high or low. If you are interested, you see it and form your own story about it.
You can tailor to a spending profile of someone who is single, older, a fully poured house. If you spend more than this, you can think about why that is and what you think. If you spend less than this, you can think about why and what do you think.
I am grouping my expenses based on a few technical grouping:
- Flexible or Inflexible: There are some editions with which we can be more flexible. Expenditure tends to fluctuate over time. There are some expenses that are not more flexible. The impact of this is felt more if you cut the work, want to take hard pivot points in your life or career, plans for financial security or future retirement. A more inflexible expenses would require that your planned income flow is more conservative, while you can take a little more risk if you have flexibility in your expenses.
- Finite or continuous: There are some expenses that will stop at some point, but there are some expenses that we do not see objectively stop. Finish expenses are insurance premiums, mortgage, reimbursement for children, reimbursement for parents, etc. The continuous expenses are a certain type of transport expenditure.
- Role or responsibility: What am I currently? Am I an employee? A husband? Or a son? Some of the expenses are a group in this way, so that we can see how much we spend something on something. Part of this responsibility will disappear. For example, you spend a few journeys, clothing, payment tax because you are an employee. But if you are planning a non-working phase of life, you would like to know how much you spend today can be placed.
In a sense this works for me because I always have an eye from the perspective of financial independence planning. Maybe not, and you have your own reasons.
I hope that your way of grouping has some feeling for it and helps you in your own way.
These are the expenses for the month of September. Illustrations can be found on my Instagram here.

My expenses in September are higher, but not really much. You would notice that there are different types of expenses and what happens is that they usually work in a fixed amount over time.
I will break how I spend in the following sections.
The essential rigid expenses
I wrote about my essential rigid expenses here in this comment: what kind of lifestyle should I buy for myself?
I group and follow this series of rather rigid expenses to be reflective about how realistic the figures are as part of the notes written above. The income flow from my income portfolio in Daedalus is intended to also pay for these expenses.

Food expenditure is lower for a few reasons:
- I usually eat 1-2 meals a day and I prepare my food. So the amount that you see in essential food and groceries is the costs such as meal, fruit and fruit costs, herbal costs.
- CDC -Supermarkt vouchers means that the bills of the groceries are lower.
Nuts companies, conservancy and essential replacement This month consists of my Zero1 Mobile Plan that I used as a Home Broadband, Giga Mobile Plan and Sengkang Town Council Conservancy Fee. I did not pay any tools this month because my utilities are low and there are still a surplus government-save that have been set against this.
In general, the essential inflexible expenditure is lower than the monthly plan of $ 850 for Daedalus’ income portfolio.
The basic rigid expenses
The difference between the base and the essential is that … it is less essential. You can probably think of something that you can at least be a little more flexible … but actually not too flexible about that would make life more healthy.
You want to renovate or replace your place every 10 years, right? You want to try to make life on a continuous basis easier, right? You want to take better care of your health, right? Some of you will have strong opinions about some areas, more than others. The expenses can be rather rigid for you, but if you touch your heart, you know that you can cut if the circumstances are really bad.
If it fits that, it will end up here.
This is also what Daedalus Income Portfolio should also offer.
I describe these expenses in this comment: apart from my most essential expenditure needs, I need $ 5,160 for my basic needs every year. I would set aside $ 174,000 to deliver income for this.

I want to share something stupid.

The other home maintenance includes the purchase of This Kemei Hair Clipper for $ 27. I bought this to replace the same hair clipper that functioned perfectly. That hair clipper must have been with me for 3 years (bought for $ 34 if I’m right).
I usually cut my own hair in the toilet. I think it must have been a fraction of attention and I dropped the entire hair clipper in the toilet bowl.
And the crazy hair clipper still vibrated in the water.
I don’t know what to do, but I reach in and took the vibrating hair clipper out of the water.
It was still vibrating!
I decided to switch it off, tried to dry it. Not put in rice (because I don’t have rice), which will really suck the water. Anyway, it didn’t work 4 days later.
But because male people have to cut her, I have to replace it.
I played with buying a little more advanced shaver, but after watching a review of these shavers more than her clipper, I decided to buy this back.

I spent $ 710.89 for the rest of my private route colonoscopy test in the Singapore General Hospital. It is low, so the gift plan is not activated and I don’t have a rider who covers this. You can read here about my colonoscopy experience.
The flexible spends
I would group most of my expenses that are flexible in one big pot. From a realistic point of view, this is the expenses that make life interesting.
From a realistic point of view, we can also be more flexible with these editions.
I think these expenses are less important for long -term pension planning, but you can have a different opinion. I think if you want to enjoy something, you might want to work for it. But there are some subaccounts with which I can tailor myself to.

I have one Philips Egg Machine ($ 34) For the office because I notice that a few people bring one egg to the office and it might be more convenient if we have something that can easily prepare. But it has to work. We are still well matched what we learn about the egg machine, but the first signs are positive.
I bought a third-party battery to replace the Asus laptop of my uncle ($ 45). The battery was blown up and influenced the touchpad. Battery link here. I’m not sure how well it works, but I don’t ask for money back from my uncle.
I paid what Bái Jīn (白金) to a colleague whose family member died ($ 50)
In September I have the privilege of having meals with the following people:
- Jiying
- Daniel
- Matthias
- Zhihan and Alvin
The meals with them came to a total of $ 65
My colleagues, customer advisers Zhihan and Alvin left the providing on 24/25 September respectively.
This month’s treat for colleagues at Providend:
- The test kitchen: $ 81
- Every day: $ 47
- Munchi Pancakes: $ 5
- Peanut and red bean shiopans from gokoku: $ 162

I discovered this obscure bakery call Baker’s Bench At Bukit Pasoh. I looked at a look, smell the shit and then decides by the Chickie Brekkie Sourdough Burger (house chickens Patty, Omelette, Vegan Aioli) {It is at the bottom of the left -most egg citizen} and bacon, baked egg, honeymosterd ciabatta} second section, second section.
Total damage: $ 87.
I have discovered this Char Siew Bao from Thow yen food stuff On Shopee. We tried it once and some of them like it. My colleagues Choon Siong and Ferris come from Malaysia and the Char Siew Bao is much better. If it meets their standards, that means something. So if I order bulk order (because Kyith eats enough at the weekend), I buy something for it ($ 10)

I also have one Fifine 1440p FHD PC Webcam For a colleague. Really not sure of the quality, but going with Fifine must be safe enough. Damage: $ 27.
Expenses funded from other sources
These are expenses that come from zinc funds/savings groups that we have capitalized.
This would be mainly for my real insurance protection needs. You can read more about them here: lowering my FI capital needs for insurance premiums from $ 131,366 to $ 58.132 by paying for it.
When I have made these expenses, I get it from my recurring expenses. A few line items from my insurance are really finite. Term insurance is. My limited entire life is $ 50,000. My health insurance policy is in my rigid essential expenses above, which I have as part of my expenses, even if I don’t spend it today (to strengthen it the later years).

Editions on work
I don’t have many responsibilities like many other people. Expenditure on work is a way to follow those expenses that are directly attributed to the work. When I stop working, this disappears.
