Pride of Table Tennis Awards: The South West celebrates success and looks ahead – Table Tennis England

Last year’s Pride of Table Tennis Awards showed how powerful recognition can be. Across the South West, nominations celebrated the dedication and impact of volunteers working at the heart of their clubs and communities, and for those receiving awards the impact went far beyond a single moment.

For winners like David May from Cape Cornwall And Craig in St Austellthe awards helped raise the local profile of table tennis, strengthen community support and stimulate further growth. Media attention, increased awareness and renewed motivation have all contributed to more young people playing, stronger clubs and wider opportunities to get involved.

Now that nominations are opening up again, this is a great opportunity to build on that momentum. If you know someone in the South West who dedicates time, energy and passion to table tennis, please consider nominating them. There are categories that recognize a wide range of contributions, including Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Civil Servant of the Year and the Level the Table Award, which celebrates work to improve inclusion and access to the sport.

Recognizing volunteers is not only rewarding for the individual, but also shines a light on the positive work happening in our region and encourages others to go the extra mile.

Let’s ensure that the South West is once again well represented by highlighting the people who make table tennis possible every day.
