ITTF has been nominated for the prestigious Sports Positive Awards 2025 in the Education and Training category, which recognizes the dedication of the Federation to stimulate environmental awareness and sustainable practices in the global Tennis Community Table Community.
The ITTF agrees with 100 Changemakers from the entire sports world that have been selected for their excellent contributions to creating a more sustainable and climate -conscious future for sport. The recognition emphasizes the growing role of table tennis in the worldwide movement towards environmental responsibility in sport.
The Sport Positive Awards celebrate organizations and individuals that pioneering in innovative approaches to sustainability, climate action and environmental rights within sport. This year’s shortlist includes sports clubs, teams, competitions, locations, federations and academic institutions of six continents, which demonstrates the truly global nature of the sustainability movement of sport.
The recognition specifically honors the ITTF Sustainability Education Platform, a free online learning tool that simplifies sustainability and makes it accessible to the global table tennis community. The platform is tailored to members’ associations, employees, athletes, coaches and civil servants and offers interactive, Gamified modules that relate to environmental and social sustainability subjects that are tailored to ITTF’s obligations under the sport for climate and sport for nature frames.
Since the launch on Earth Day 2025, the platform has already involved more than 200 people from 64 countries, of which more than 130 certification have received. The accessible format, combining scenario-based learning, videos, quizzes and real-life case studies, has made it a replicable model for other sports organizations that are looking for practical, low-budget sustainability education solutions.
The power of the platform lies in its simplicity and responsiveness on community needs, designed using basic tools but the delivery of professional, meaningful impact. It is a core pillar of ITTF’s long -term duration strategy, with new modules and stakeholders and initiatives for stakeholders.
Sport Positive Founder Claire Poole noted: “The climate crisis increasingly influences the sports that we love, making it essential that federations such as ITTF leadership roles play in education and action. Their dedication to sustainability training is precisely the kind of progressive approach to sport needs.”
Winners will be announced during the Sport Positive Awards Ceremony on October 7, 2025, in London, who coincide with the Sport Positive Summit that runs 7-8 October.
Prices underline the growing importance of environmental management in international sport, with table tennis positioning of the sports that lead this vital transformation.
