Pope Leo celebrates his birthday in a way that fits for a resident of Chicago

Birthday celebrations are not complete without cake, and that even applies to Pope Leo XIV.

Prior to his 70th birthday on Sunday, the resident of Chicago was given a sweet treat with which he is probably known.

Brian Burch, the newly named American ambassador of the Holy chair Who comes from the suburbs of Chicago, presented Pope Leo with none other than Portillo’s famous chocolate cake.

Portillo’s is known for sending his food – and desserts – nationwide, but Burch managed to get the iconic dessert all the way to the Vatican. The cake was decorated with a simple red plate that said: “Happy Birthday Pope Leo XIV.”

When Pope Leo XIV was appointed earlier this year, Portillo participated in the parties by making a special Italian sandwich – “The Leo.” The restaurant chain described the sandwich as a divinely seasoned Italian beef, baptized in Jus and ended with the holy three -unit of peppers – wanted, hot or a combo. “

The sandwich was only available in May and whether it will return next year is still unknown.
