The Bombay High Court directed Monday Maratha Protest leader Manoj Jarange and others Involved in the recent Mumbai protests requires that reservations to submit sworn statements in response to allegations of the petitioners with regard to the protests.
The issue was effectively resolved on Tuesday evening after the Maharashtra government had issued a resolution in which the Marathas are issued under the other Backward Class (OBC) category. After this development, the demonstrators left the city and traffic was resumed on large arterial roads that were blocked during the agitation.
The hearing began with lawyers MV Thorat and Satish Maneshinde, who represent Jarange and the protest organizers and inform the court: “Matter has been resolved and all protesters have left the city of Mumbai.”
A bank consisting of acting supreme judge Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Aarti Sathe replied: “We were not laughing in the last two days. Today we smile. But some problems have been there. There have been large -scale damage. Even police personnel had been injured. Who will pay? Did you see the photos?”
Maneshinde argued that the photos that were referred from earlier protests were and explained: “This time there was no damage, only people were discomfort.”
However, the bank said: “There must be a statement that indicates what happened this time, this was not voluntary. Unless there is a statement, how can we make it.”
Thorat pointed out: “But the state government is not on it.”
The bank replied: “The government itself is in soup. There have been serious accusations. Serve an explanation for that. We cannot remove the petitions on oral entries. Declaration.”
The court assured the proponents that no unfavorable orders would be accepted and granted them four weeks to submit the statements. The case was postponed until next month.
Jarange officially withdrew the agitation, launched on August 29, upon receipt of the government resolution that the Hyderabad Gazette carries out, which Kunbi status provides Marathas from the Marathwada region, making their admission to the OBC category possible.
The government has also informed the protesters that the remaining three gazettes would require at least one month.
