Police holds Terence Crawford in Gun Point during traffic stop

Only a few days away from his decision victory on Canelo Alvarez, boxer Terence Crawford was shot by the police during a traffic stop in Omaha, Nebraska.

The incident happened after a victory parade in honor of Crawford.

“I don’t reach no gun,” Crawford is heard in a video posted on social media.

The Omaha police issued a statement with the text that the local time stopped a vehicle just before 1:30 am that ran recklessly. During the traffic stop, the police officer saw “a firearm on the floor shelf of the driver” and for safety, “all four passengers were ordered from the vehicle.”

Crawford was identified as the driver and gave a quote for reckless driving.

All four passengers in the car were allowed to transport legally banking, including a member of the Crawford security team who wore his own weapon at the time of the traffic stop.

As a result of the traffic stop, the police chief Todd Schmaderer of Omaha “an internal business investigation” about the incident.

Omaha Mayor John Ewing also issued a statement:

“I learned that the police of Omaha Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford has persuaded a traffic stop in the city center this morning. After learning this, I personally spoke with Bud Crawford,” Ewing wrote. “I acknowledge the seriousness of what happened and how trust between law enforcement and our community is important and shows the need to be continuously vigilant about building relationships. Omaha police chief Todd Schmagerer has promised an internal investigation that I want to be support and fully about our research.
