PFL parts ways with Jake Paul after three-year no-fight contract

It’s been three years since famed YouTube sensation Jake Paul signed a deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). At the time, it was announced that the social media influencer would be switching from boxing to MMA and competing under the promotion’s banner.

“I’ve proven myself both inside and outside the boxing ring and now I’m going to do the same in MMA, and there’s no limit to the positive impact I can make on the sport,” Paul said of his move to MMA in a statement after first signing with PFL. “I plan to participate in the PFL SmartCage and once again show the world that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.”

The deal struck in January 2023 was intended to see him compete in the PFL SmartCage while using his influence to attract new fighters to the organization. Paul was named “Head of Fighter Advocacy” and even helped bring former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou to the promotion.

Now, according to reportsthe deal is done and Paul has officially left his existing partnership with PFL without ever competing in MMA.
