Pat Cummins picks all-time India-Australia ODI XI, omits Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Pat Cummins has unveiled his all-time India-Australia ODI XI ahead of the upcoming series, and his choices have sparked much debate. The Australian captain, currently sidelined due to injury, surprised fans by leaving both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma out of his line-up.

A star-studded line-up

The opening duo consists of Australian David Warner and the great Indian Sachin Tendulkar. The middle group includes Ricky Ponting, Steve Smith, Shane Watson and Michael Bevan – all known for their match-winning skills.

MS Dhoni was Cummins’ choice as wicketkeeper, recognized for his calm leadership and finishing skills. The bowling attack is a dream combination of pace and spin: Brett Lee, Shane Warne, Zaheer Khan and Glenn McGrath.

With only three Indians Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Zaheer Khan in the XI, many fans noticed how heavily the list was skewed towards Australian legends.

Cummins clarified that his roster only included retired players, which explains the absence of modern stars. Still, the mix of legends he has chosen makes for a powerful team.
