Panjapur Bus Terminus in Tiruchi has modern facilities, but no room for Autorickshaw stand

The integrated busterminus in Panjapur, intended to streamline public transport and to improve travel experience for shoes, is struggling with a significant problem: overcrowding and non -regulated parking by Autorickshaws who have no designated space.

Autorickshaws swarm the entrance and starting points of the terminus, urgent pedestrian room and creates the inconvenience for commuters. Older people and people with luggage have difficulty navigating the random vehicles in the middle of the chaos.

Despite the modern infrastructure, Terminus misses a special Autorickshaw stand, Forensen say.

Pre -paid cars

Commuters have encouraged the authorities to introduce pre-paid Autorickshaw services and to set up a Autorickshaw stand shares if drivers demand £ 100 to £ 200 extra.

Autorickshaw drivers say that the absence of a good standard leaves them without a choice. “Although we are allowed to park in the vicinity of the facility, not many passengers for Autorickshaws, because they can easily reach the central and Chatiram stands in city buses. The company is boring and we hardly get two customers per day,” said Arokiyakumar, a car run driver.

According to sources, more than 260 Autorickshaws operated around the central bus stand. Drivers of these Autorickshaws now find it difficult to make ends meet without a special standard near the new Busterminus in Panjapur.

Insufficient space

In the meantime, around 180 Autorickshaw drivers from Panjapur, Ramaclandra Nagar, Edamalaipattipudur and Crawford areas have been assigned space at the back of the terminus to set up a standard. The Autorickshaws, which were active near the central bus stop, were asked to park their vehicles for the facility. However, the parking space is suitable for almost 100 autorickshaws.

Although many Autorickshaw vak unions have approached the authorities for a special space, they have been told that a parking space will not be allowed within the end point. “The officials must take steps to streamline and regulate parking of Autorickshaws and to offer a permanent solution for the issue,” said K. Sureshkumar, CPI councilor of Ward No. 23.
