For all the grid movements that the Phoenix Suns made this out of season – with no fewer than 11 new faces in the door in the valley – a deal that they could not get over the line, was that of Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors. The 22-year-old continued to retain between wanting a new long-term deal in San Francisco, but did not get the money he thought he should have been through that franchise.
This has led to a summer long saga that has still reached its conclusion – and although the Suns tried to test the Warriors solution – Kuminga always felt too ambitious. Especially when the Nick Richards package, Royce O’Neale and four seconds were hanging around Picks, as the best Phoenix could offer. Even if you also add Grayson all, it is not enough.
Sun Right not to include OSO Iighodaro in a potential package.
A young player who might have received the Warriors to pick up the phone is Vooruit Oso ighodaro. After a solid Rookie season, the second round picked a man among boys during a promising summer competition. He was so good that we brought the idea that the Boston Celtics should be seriously interested in his services.
It is clear that the stock of ighodaro is increasing, and that process only continued on Mediadag. When answering a question from Dana Scott by Arizona Sport About his shape – and which Duane Rankin I received a video of – Iighodaro’s reaction was equal parts and also self -conscious about what it takes to have a long career in the NBA.

If Eighodaro has taken his shooting seriously all season – and we know that he was working with Ryan Dunn in Phoenix for large parts of the summer – then he might be about to make the biggest leap of every player on the Roster this season. A look at his Scot graphic Glass Do not throw any surprises, zero attempts from outside the arch with the most attempts in the paint.
The 23 -year -old ranked in the 97th percentile in shots around the edge – a large number for a rookie at the time – but it also emphasizes how little shooting he did away from the basket. If that changes and he can develop a consistent elbow jumper or can be shot from the top of the key, it will unlock so much more off the floor for him.
This is not even about becoming a 3 -point threat for Uighodaro – his future in Phoenix will record a few minutes that is played as a traditional center – but the need to diversify his attacking game is clear. He was able to bully smaller players at Summer League, but we know that this will not happen every evening in the NBA.
In order to speak frankly about his attacking shortcomings – go so far to admit that it is not his greatest strength at the moment – can only be positive for both player and team. Fortunately for ighodaro, given the change in the timeline in the valley, he gets more time and minutes to prove that he can develop into a constant offensive threat outside the paint.
