NY Rangers Game 9 Open Thread: Rangers vs San Jose

The Rangers played their second clunker on Monday night, losing to Minnesota and once again struggled for consistency on offense. They found a soft spot in the schedule tonight with San Jose before traveling to Calgary for two very winnable games before a mini-gauntlet next month. No match in October is a must-win, and this is no different in the grand scheme of things. I call it a must win because, to be honest, I don’t want to deal with the negativity if they lose.

The Rangers have seemingly mastered the defensive structure, which is the more difficult part of the transition to a new system. Now it’s about finding the right moments to take risks on offense to help right that ship. Part of their struggle is personnel-based, but we are looking for progress. Keep moving forward in the big picture.
