Dustin Wolf and Calgary Flames in early conversations about extension

Calgary Flames -goalkeeper Dustin Wolf recently spoke with the media and confirmed that both his camp and the Flames organization would like to extend its contract. With his current deal, which ends at the end of the 2025-26 season, the 24-year-old confirmed that expansion interviews are underway in anticipation of RFA-network.

Nothing has been completed, but Wolf said about his extension negotiations:

“They work, that is about everything I can really tell you. There are conversations, but nothing has really confirmed yet. I would like to stay here and I think they want me to stay here. So as soon as something flourishes where we both like, I am sure it will not be long after that point where the pen will be to paper.”

Wolf quickly became a favorite with fans in Calgary, and he is on his way to becoming the long -term starter of the team. That path became a bit easier, but more pressure was added when the flames went further from than Vladar. Now, together with Devin Cooley, the door is wide open for Wolf to take on a greater role. The flames bet on Wolf, and with that will probably be a calculated gamble on his next contract.

Wolf has spent the low season in Calgary, get involved in the community, becoming more familiar with the city and its events and training for the camp. That he did not travel or removed is a positive sign that this is a player who is planning to make his house Calgary.
