Northern Pictures appoints head of Scripted Development | Television tonight

Northern Pictures has appointed Polly Rowe as Head of Scripted Development.

She will oversee the development and commissioning of scripted content as the company expands its slate of scripted projects Austinin addition to a diverse factual portfolio.

Polly Rowe has worked with leading broadcasters including Prime Video, Netflix, Stan and ABC, with credits such as Top end Bub And Black snow Season 2.

Her career in story development began as a dramaturge in the theater sector, before working as a literary manager at Sydney Theater Company, where artistic directors Cate Blanchett, Andrew Upton and Kip Williams commissioned and developed more than 45 new Australian plays. She also led the development of Black is the new white by Nakkiah Lui, and RBG by Suzie Miller, and established development programs such as Rough Drafts and the Emerging Writers Group.

Northern Pictures was recognized as Screen Producers Australia Production Business of the Year for the second time, winning the accolade after winning seven Primetime films. Emmy Awards for Love on the spectrum – Australia’s most awarded production company Emmy history. Northern Pictures was also recently honored as a Trailblazer in Realscreen’s Global 100.
