No room for sentimentality with Eddie Howe at Newcastle United

I think everyone is very aware of what Eddie Howe has done before, albeit with an awful lot of support.

The point is, do we remain sentimental and just let go of what’s happening now?

Or do we become more ambitious and maybe come to terms with what I think, that Eddie Howe probably took us as far as he could.

I believe he is outside the elite category when it comes to game management and ability to be reactive.

Even his biggest defenders can certainly see that Eddie Howe is incredibly stubborn.

That he is tied to only one system, which teams clearly understand.

No number 10 and zero creativity.

Destroy the thought of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa together.

Eddie Howe won’t experiment or give young people a chance, apart from Lewis Miley.

It seems he always wants to appease and defer to his aging, aging and increasingly injury-prone players.

Eddie Howe has not just one highly respected Newcastle United director of football, but two.

He has appointed his own cousin to a prominent position.

Eddie Howe has virtual autonomy at the club, which alone should have raised red flags.

People will shake their heads, but these are worrying times indeed.
