Man Utd fans reject Ruben Amorim’s big decision after draw against Tottenham

Newcomer Bryan Mbeumo found the net in the 32nd minute, giving United a well-deserved 1-0 lead.

During the second half, Thomas Frank’s side pushed for an equalizer and were successful in the 84th minute when substitute Mathys Tel scored to level the match at 1–1.

In extra time, Richarlison shocked United by putting Spurs 2-1 ahead. But United responded quickly with Matthijs De Ligt heading in a dramatic equalizer to end the match 2-2.

Online reactions from United fans showed frustration at a tactical choice by Ruben Amorim.

Many were unhappy with Amorim’s decision to place Mbeumo on the left.

One fan said: “Amorim cost United this match what Mbeumo was still doing on the left.”

Another tweeted: “Mbeumo is still on the left and Cunha on the right with Sesko on. I don’t understand what Amorim is cooking here.”

A third fan added: “This is probably Amorim’s worst performance of the season. I’m not talking about the team, just the manager. Why did Mbeumo play the whole game on the left? That was such a big mistake.”

Someone else wrote: “I don’t understand the decision to play Mbeumo on the left though.”

A fifth commented: “Why was Mbeumo kept on the left flank when Sesko was introduced? You could clearly see Cunha was sloppy today. All you had to do was introduce Mount of Zirkzee on time.”

Another fan said: “Mbeumo won Player of the Month playing on the right. Next game we will play him on the left even if we had no control. We should have won this game and attacked the Spurs defense more. Another opportunity missed. Smh.”

The result saw Spurs climb to third in the Premier League standings, while United dropped to seventh.
